I have watched bits and pieces of most of the games but have not posted on here. One of the Ohio sites has a running thread on each game, and though it has not been real busy, there is enough talk going on to have movement on each game.

 

KY is a basketball state.

I prefer the minor bowl games because I think the teams are more excited to be in them than the teams in the major bowls other than the playoff ones.

 

Miami of Ohio may or may not be in a bowl again anytime soon so they were pumped versus an Oklahoma that missed the playoffs but will make a bowl of some sort every year.

What a weird game. But again, it goes back to my original answer. No one cares about these early bowl games. Pretty much all that matters anymore are the playoff games. Crazy, right? I know.

I think a lot of fans care.Just not so much the SEC fans.

 

Bama fans are different.

I believe they would watch their team, no matter what bowl game they play in.

The bowl games were watered down already; the playoffs have diminished the interest even more.

"I think when we created the playoff, which all of you wanted to do and all of you wanted to make it four teams, and now all of you want to make it eight teams, and then pretty soon all you guys are going to want to make it 16 teams, the only focus is on the playoff," Saban said. "But when we all started this, however many years ago it was, I said that you're going to diminish the importance of other bowl games in college football, which has happened. All anybody talks about is the playoff. We have a whole bunch of other bowl games that people don't think are all that important. So if you don't think it's important, all of a sudden the players don't think it's important. So you can't really blame the players.

 

"We created this. We created this. It used to be to go to the Rose Bowl, when you played in the Big 10, that was the ultimate experience you could have. When you played in the SEC, going to the Sugar Bowl was that same thing and when you played in the Big 12, it was going to the Orange Bowl. Those things don't exist anymore. We have a playoff and everybody is interested in the playoff. Nobody is interested in anything else. So now that that's trickled down to the players, how could you blame the players for that? I can't blame the players for that."

Bowl Games are kinda who cares but I did watch IU and Utah State I think last night. It was a great game and it was fun rooting for IU.

Matchups are getting better as we move to the better bowls. I am watching some of today's games. Georgia - TCU was a good watch. The Stanford North Carolina game is an interesting matchup - I would be much more interested if McCaffrey were playing.

Agreed. I watched most of the UGA/TCU game and now have on the Tennessee/Nebraska game. I plan on watching FSU/Michigan tonight. Basically, there are too many bowl games which makes it harder and harder to come up with games that your average fan wants to watch. Just taking a look at the empty seats in most of the bowl games will explain that to most people.

I've enjoyed watching games all week. Pinstripe Bowl and Heart of Dallas Bowl have been my favorite games so far.

Alot of great games. The Army/North Texas was a really good game.

Up to this point...If it's not the service academies+ Ga Tech (tomorrow) and their flexbone offense(s), or UK (tomorrow) and Notre Dame (no bowl)...I haven't much watched them.

 

The others have been on, but kind of like the Weather Channel...background noise.

So the triple option type offenses are fun to watch to you? Ehh. To me watching them play is like watching UVA play basketball; no thanks.
