Crazy to think hometown kid Quentin Snider beat a team with three NBA first-rounders in the starting lineup tonight.

 

Yes and I'm very happy for him and the rest of the team.

That was the best, most exciting game that I’ve ever attended!!! Electric atmosphere…. Thought about selling my tix several times over the past few weeks but sooooo glad I didn’t....

I'm with HammerTime, the football win was much bigger for the program "this" season than the basketball game. I would have loved for UK to win both, but as someone that supports both football and basketball, the football win was more important for the program going forward.

 

That said, I completely get what your saying though. Even though I'm a basketball fan first, I still want the football program to succeed. The basketball loss won't effect anything this season.

Completely agree on the football win in this situation. Beating the top ten Cards that still had playoff hopes vs. a hoops loss in what essentially is a pre-season game in December--No brainer.

 

Not pleased with the loss as a KY fan, but hat's off to the Cards who got the best of the Cats tonight. Shot better, and Ricky's game plan got the pace where they wanted it. Snider was fun to watch tonight; and if he shoots like that all season, he'll be a hit in the ACC.

 

Good learning experience for both teams, and hopefully both teams are better for the experience. Hope to see a rematch in March, and as a Cat's fan--I'll take my chances with that one.

Snider impressed me tonight. I feel like Kentucky never really controlled this game, Louisville controlled it even when Kentucky had some runs. UK didn't hit free throws and horrible scoring drought late in the game....Not bashing Briscoe, But he seems to be silent in big games. Played well vs. UNC, But the Freshman's run this team, and Briscoe was expected to be the leader this season. It hurts to lose to the Cards, But UK really isn't ready to beat a top 10 team, unless Monk is gonna drop 30+ for us. They'll improve, have to learn to do the little things first.

As much as we all thought and were told that this was Briscoe's team in the preseason, it is definitely Fox & Monk's.

Worst part of this for Kentucky is they're really behind the eight ball now in terms of tournament seeding. Can probably afford only one more loss (can't be Kansas) to have a shot at a #1 seed.

Sucks for him. Most bigs his size would have never gotten in a stance to try and guard him. Q would have hit another three. He breaks down and tries to play defense and now he's going to be a vine for quite some time.

Kentucky has to become a better defensive team. There will be nights when you don't shoot well, those are the games in the tournament that your defense must carry you. This team is lacking on the defensive end.

 

Being soft at the 4 spot defensively must be corrected. Perhaps Jones could help. Someone has to help protect the middle from this spot.
