You are in the minority, big time.

Yep. Football team can lose to UL for the rest of my lifetime for all I care.

With a night to digest the whole thing, I can confidently state my feelings on this game: relief.

This wasn't December 2012 in which Louisville was a future national champion and Kentucky was headed for the NIT. Neither team is at that extreme this year. In the end, unless amazing things happen in development, I think we saw a pretty good UofL team beat a pretty good UK team. Fairly even matchup and UofL came out ahead.

Pitino's lack of success against Cal since his move to Lexington has been well documented. That's a monkey that's been on Pitino's back and a thought at the front of the minds of Louisville fans for a few years now.

I'm thrilled to get another win against UK and think that, come March, this will have proven to be a game between two teams that genuinely deserved their top 10-15 rankings.

It will be interesting to see what this Ky. team looks like after Cal's boot camp week and preparation for conference play. The next week will allow time to work on defense and hopefully allow the offense time to work on feeding the post. Bam is a monster when he gets the ball down low and has room to finish. The few times he got the ball last night he finished with authority unlike "Mr. Softee" Skal of last year. He had some highlight reel big man moves last night. I just don't think they work hard enough on getting him the ball. He looks like he has a good idea when to kick it back out when he feels the double team. This could only help the outside open up more if they can consistently get it to him in the future.

It seemed to me the only two Cats that played well were Bam and Mulder. Everyone else seemed completely out of sorts for the majority of the game, and that's credit to Louisville. They played the game at their style and it worked perfectly.

Deng Adel's defense on Monk was right up there with his defense on Duke's Brandon Ingram last season. He's Louisville's go-to guy to try and hold down a dominant scorer and he did really well again last night.

You'll never completely shut a scorer like Monk out of the game, but you have to try and keep him from taking over. Louisville managed to do that to enough of an extent to get the win.

Agreed. The crazy thing about it is I don't think Monk really forced or took more than a couple bad shots. He was just well defended on most and missed the few open looks he got. It happens.

Poor Bam my behind. Put some skates on the man! :lol2:

If you're a Louisville fan who's on Twitter and you don't follow Kelly Dickey, then I don't know what the heck you're doing. Had this gem earlier:

Since the football series was renewed in 1994, UofL and UK each have 23 combined regular season wins over the other in football and men's basketball.

And he had this one too:

Since the football series resumed, the football winner has lost the subsequent basketball game in 19 of the 23 years. Each team has swept twice.

I see what he did there. ;)

UL guy: "Thank God for football!"

UK guy: "Thank God for basketball!"

He's a must follow.

I'd love to know what database he uses or where he pulls his info because some of the stuff he posts is just like "How in the heck did he know that?" :lol2:

Special guest Scott Snider (Q's dad) coming up on the Skinny Podcast today. Should be a classic...

If my math is correct that means the respective records are:

Basketball: Kentucky is 16-9 since 1994

Football: Louisville is 14-7 since 1994

Completely agree with you. And welcome to the board.

Not only does he seem to have a good feel. It seems like he also is a pretty darn good passer for a player his size. I'm of the belief that the more he is involved in the half court offense, the further this team can go.
