Cardinals played great defense, were efficient on offense and kept UK from their transition offense.

 

Not really. UK got a good 20 points off transition. Especially first half.

Another great game to watch. Both teams left it all on the floor and U.L. came out on top this time. No excuses, the Cats got out played. U.L. got a typical Pitino coached win, he took the oppositions biggest threat away and didn't let Monk run wild and for the most part slowed down the U.K. run outs, fast break a lot of the time. I thought that the UL defense was very good and offensively ... Snider killed us with his play, also imo the UL pick / roll game gave U.K. fits.

The Cats have to defend better in the half court. U.K.'s freshmen vs. UL's more experienced team, coupled with the first true road game hurt tonight. Missed FT's were aso a problem. I thought that U.K. got the ball to where they wanted to (Monk) on that last trip, he just missed the shot. The young man is not going to go off for 40 every night.

Congrats to the U.L. / BGP'rs on here on your W. I would not doubt for a minute that these two will play again in March, especially how it seems that the ncaa likes to try and set that game up.

This U.K. team has 3 and 4 a days until the 29th and the start of the SEC schedule to get better and is jmo that we will see a lot of mistakes cleaned up to make the long SEC run.

 

and besides ... we have to throw them a handful of bird seed every ten years or so or Jurich and Lil' Ricky may quit playing....:clap: :popcorn:

Cal was correct in his post game press conference. UK isn't good enough (yet) to go into a Top 10 opponents gym and win.

You know better than that GS. UVa is one of the few teams that can out-ugly UofL. They put that "novacaine" offense and defense on ya and next thing you know you wake up in the locker room with an L wondering what happened.

I hear you. The vast majority of BBN would lose in football every year if it meant a win in basketball. No brainer.

Gotta disagree with you on this part. Pitino didn't do anything in particular that 'Ol Roy didn't do on Saturday. Monk was just hitting insane shots that day. He was off today, for whatever reason. I was still terrified every time he rose up. Shot selection was still the same.
