Need to run some better offense in the half court set, particularly getting Bam the ball. Would like to see more of a two man game with him and Fox or Monk.

 

UL was the better team tonight and deserved the win. Happy for Snider, seems like he gets a llt of crap from their fanbase. Not anymore.

Malik Monk was doing Louisville all kinds of favors taking all those terrible shots.

Incredibly happy for Q. What a monster game from the hometown kid.

If you want to enjoy Malik Monk at his finest, you'll have to deal with a few nights like this along the way. He's going to keep firing away hot or cold.

 

Q was fantastic, but he almost cost UL the game down the stretch by not going back and getting the ball as soon as he gave it up on the final 3 possessions. He was the best player on the floor all night, have to go demand the ball with the game on the line.

 

One reason I thought UK would pull away is that I didn't feel Deng Adel was ready to make a star turn in a game like this quite yet. Oops.

 

Bam did hurt UK at the line late, but credit to UL for getting more physical with him after he had that big stretch in the middle of the 2nd half. Either way, the big fella is starting to figure it out and that is a very good thing for UK in the half court going forward.

 

Great game and atmosphere. The best rivalry in CBB and it showed again tonight. Awesome showcase for the state as always...

Snider had a heck of a game for sure.

 

Monk tried to play hero ball, and tonight it wasn't happening. The shot selection by Kentucky left a lot to be desired in the run that UL used in the first half to take the lead, and then the same thing happened in the critical second half run. Way too quick on their shots in those instances, and it allowed the momentum to take off so quickly. But ultimately, the difference in the game was that Louisville ran a solid offense in the halfcourt set. Kentucky looked like they did not know there was such a thing. Kentucky lived on dunks and transition baskets. When they tried jump shots, it just wasn't happening for them.

UK had them on the ropes with a three or four point lead and Bam missed two FT's and Fox got stuffed on a drive to the basket. UL scored like the next six and UK never caught up.

Q absolutely embarrassed Bam on that drive to the rim. So nasty. :lol2:

I've yet to meet that fan, but point him my way next time he says anything about Q and I'll tell him how wrong he's always been. Snider has given me nothing to complain about his entire career.

Whoever mentioned in the programs thread that Fox's shots look good but never go in was spot on tonight. I thought for sure this would be the night he happened to get hot, but I could t believe how many hit the back of the rim. Certainly part of the game plan was to force him to shoot threes, but man, a bunch of those were on line.

The moment I thought UK could take it was when Willis had an open look from three that would have put them up five. When that went by wayside, the last great chance to seize the initiative was lost.
