Kentucky 103 North Carolina 100

That was just ENJOYABLE at the highest level. It was close bc kids made plays, not because they threw it away. Awesome game.

I was thinking the same thing during the game. No one "played down," but they each lifted their game "up." Just enjoyable.

Monk is a killer. Stone cold killer. If he was 6'6" he might be the top pick in the draft.

Fox is smooth. I had no idea he had the stats he had until late in the game. I thought Briscoe was solid, especially on the boards.

The bigs have to start producing though. Bam will get there. Willis is what he is, he'll shoot well enough to win a few games and then disappear for a few. Love Gabriel's hustle but he's really raw. Hope he stays for another year, think he'd benefit a ton.

For the love of all that is holy please start playing Killeya-Jones more. Gonna need him at some point. Humphreys has his merits but he's not always the best matchup to put in off the bench.

UNC is good. For my money better than last year. They have some dudes who can get buckets.

The only player to score more points in a game against UNC is the 1960 NL MVP. Dick Groat scored 48 on 2/29/52.

I think Cal had it a little wrong when he said before the season that this might be the best defensive team at UK since he's been there. I think it's the worst. Wow, can we learn to rebound and box out and for the love of god keep Gabriel and Humphries on the bench!!! Lol

Defense looks bad against teams that are elite on the offensive end. This UK team will shut down pretty much everyone not wearing UCLA or UNC on the front of the uniform. Duke is probably in there as well. Defending a team that can take and make a bunch of tough shots is really hard, and why those that don't really understand the game think there is no defense played in the NBA.

You can defend UCLA and UNC as well as possible and still have them score 90 plus. That's what happens against teams that move the ball, shoot at a high level and cause problems on the glass.

If you want to rail on the UK defense because they struggled to stop two teams that are as good as you will see on the offensive end, just make sure you own it when they play everyone else...

One site I saw them at #1 in defensive efficiency coming into that game.

Both teams where in the top 10 I believe I shortest time per point scored. Lots of possessions.

Cats actually won the rebound battle. That blew my mind. What a game. So much fun.

You happen to check out any UK games last year?

They are one of the best in the country points per 100 possessions.

2017 Pomeroy College Basketball Ratings

Monk's night was so big, that some didn't even realize Fox had @ double-double, also a 10/7/4 game for Briscoe, best backcourt in the country?

It's a new era in college basketball. If you can't put up big points you aren't winning. I wil take this offense over Tubby's ball line defense any day.

Points given up is not an accurate way to judge a defense. It's points per possesuon. The two teams yesterday going into the game was averaging 13 and 14 seconds per possession. Of course they are going to give up more points.

Plus they both were playing ridiculous great offensive teams. Some of the shots hit yesterday were tough ones.

As long as the offense is working as well as it has been and we rebound missed shots on both ends, I'm really not concerned about giving up 100 points. As others have mentioned Kentucky has played two of the top scoring teams in the country and have came out of those games 1-1. I'll take it.

Humphries is AWFUL as in God Awful.

And him getting in before Wynard says a lot for Wynard.

As bad as many seem to think we are at rebounding, we are top ten in the nation in that respect and out-rebounded the top rebounding team in the nation (UNC). As far as defense is concerned, improvement is there to be made, but when you play UCLA and UNC with our styles of play and number of possessions and the high shooting percentages that is what you are gonna get.

Cats could be very good late in the year, if they can stay healthy. Lots of room to improve in many areas, but effort is top notch. Go Cats
