That is being shot down for the most part...but who knows.

But UT is a MUCH better job than Purdue, not sure why he would consider it to begin with.

I completely agree that it is a much better job than Purdue and it always will be. However the expectations at Tennessee through the roof and maybe he doesn't like the pressure and negativity from the fans. Just a thought, it's just the only reason I can come up with why he would leave Tennessee for Purdue.

Surprised Indiana fired Wilson, he's done a very good job at IU.

Wasnt about wins and losses

By the way, the cat was 26-47 at IU. 26. and 47.

We now have seen "very good" used today to describe a team that won't be in the Top 150 of college hoops in March, and a coach that went 26-47. We need to tighten up our praise around this joint.

What about the Ducks bringing back their former OC, Scott Frost, as HC? He has done a remarkable job at UCF, taking an 0-12 team and making them bowl eligible in his first season there.

I was impressed by his offense last Saturday. He made it clear he will do what he needs to to win, even when out manned.

He's gotta be the 1st choice for the Ducks. Makes sense.

He won the SEC East a few years ago...let that sink in.

Dakich is reporting Jeff Brohm to Purdue is "done-ish." Says he hears a press conference Monday.

Dang. I feel like if I'm Brohm I wait for one of the better stepping stone jobs to open. The Big 10, with those coaches I have to compete against, isn't very appealing.

I hate that for Brohm, I think he could have got a better job. He's going to have to pull off a Miracle to move on from Purdue to a better job after that.

From a divisional standpoint, Purdue isn't a terrible, Purdue is on the opposite side of Michigan, OSU, Penn St, Michigan St., not too bad.

Purdue is tough because there's a lot of rebuilding that will have to be done, but a positive is that Brohm's recruiting area won't change all that much, so he will keep a number of the high school contacts he has made with being at UL, WKU, as well as Illinois for a few years.

Be the "Iowa" for about 5 years and a big job will come calling for him.

You can't be the Iowa at Purdue. Iowa is a hotbed for big strong offensive lineman. That's Iowas #1 export. Purdue doesn't have that. Purdue also doesn't have an extremely loyal fan base and administration dedicated to winning football games.

You can't blame Brohm for taking the Purdue job, nothing wrong with taking the money. But it's sort of like accepting a higher paying job where you have no room for promotion, or staying at or going to a lesser paying new job where you have a higher chance of promotion. It's a philosophical dilemma.

My Iowa reference is that at Purdue you don't have to average 9 or 10 wins a year. At Purdue, consistently win 6 or 7 games a year, and occasionally have a big year where they beat a team or two that they shouldn't.

I'm sure it's easier said than done, but with his offensive ability it should give him a slight advantage against similar teams.

I think Brohm can do that at Purdue and honestly I would expect him too because he is a great coach. But does 6-7 wins at Purdue look the same as 11-1 at a place like UC for instance? To me it clearly doesn't. The 11-1,12-0 coach at UC will get more opportunities than the 6-6 coach at Purdue. I think going 11-1 at UC is on the same level of difficult as going 6-6 at Purdue.

Wilson resigned. DC Tom Allen was named as new head coach. Not as the interm, but as the permanent replacement.

Coach Allen was DC at USF in 2015. I met him at several meet and greet functions that season. The man has passion and some fire for what he does. I wish him well.
