November 30, 20169 yr There are some rumors that Butch Jones is leaving Tennessee. They are rumors, so take it with a grain of salt but word is that Purdue wants him and he wants out of Tennessee. Three of his commitments decomitted last night as well.

I would make Tennessee fire me before I would go to Purdue. Honestly, is Purdue even a better job than UC? I don't really think it is. Purdue is such a hard place to coach, I don't see why anyone would take that job. It's not a stepping stone to somewhere better like a Houston or UC. It's a dead end job. Purdue was talking about Les Miles, PJ Fleck, and now Butch Jones. Why any of those guys would touch that job is beyond me. They would be better off going under the radar and becoming a coordinator somewhere I.e Lane Kiffin.

December 1, 20169 yr PJ Fleck is dragging around a LOT of personal baggage, some Petrino/Arkansas level stuff, so that will scare off some suitors. Won't even slow down many others. I only bring it up in so much as he won't be the slam-dunk at as many schools as he would be otherwise. Jeff Brohm will be a monster name and will get a huge new job this offseason. Luke Fickell is my guess to end up at UC when Tuberville gets walked out. Bobinski (Purdue's AD) and Butch Jones do have a relationship. For what it is worth. Purdue is a MUCH better job than UC for about 25 million reasons. Not close. Heck, Western Michigan is a better job than UC today. So is Western KY. Neither Fleck nor Brohm would leave their current situation for UC...period. If UC isn't ear-marked for the Big 12, which they currently aren't, it is not all that attractive.

Purdue is a career killer in recent years. It's so hard to win there. You can win at UC and let that propel you to a destination job. I don't think you can do that at Purdue. That's why I think UC is a better job.

There is still loads of talent in Ohio and on the current roster. Plus in the group of 5 schools, you can win just about anywhere with a great coach. Because it's so much about great coaching and developing the talent you have. Where in the Big 10 at Purdue you just simply aren't going to get the talent to come to West Lafayette to compete with the big boys.
