November 30, 20169 yr I would say the first calls will be to PJ Fleck and Lane Kiffin. I've heard several McElwain comments, but I don't understand a lateral move like Florida and Oregon would be.
November 30, 20169 yr But on the topic of Mark Helfrich, I want him up in the box at Ohio State next year.

November 30, 20169 yr I'd argue Oregon would be a step backwards from Florida. I would too. I was being generous with lateral. Florida is a much better job.
November 30, 20169 yr With Herman going to Texas, many talking heads are saying Lane Kiffin would be joining him as OC. I see this as step back big time. Makes zero sense to me if it happens.

I think you were hearing a lot of misinformation. He may be going to LSU to become OC not Texas. Tom Herman has his own offense and wouldn't benefit from Lane Kiffins services. Kiffin going to LSU makes sense though, 1) His contract is up at Bama 2) LSU isn't paying Orgeron very much to be OC 3) he gets out of Sabans shadow and can make an even better case to be a big time HC again.

But he would then have to go up against Saban every year. Saban's former assistants do not have a very good track record against him.
November 30, 20169 yr Oregon coach Mark Helfrich fired Who do the Ducks go after? If I were them, I would hire Donald. Daisy could be OC. That is about their speed.
November 30, 20169 yr But he would then have to go up against Saban every year. Saban's former assistants do not have a very good track record against him. Coaches are ego-maniacs. They all think they can touch him. Also if he does somehow happen to beat them, then he is looked at as a genius. If not then he's just like every other coach.
November 30, 20169 yr Florida traditionally is better than Oregon, but if Phil Knight had a meeting with you and could offer you pretty much any $ amount you wanted, plus every amenity for every facility and office you could want it would be tough to say no.
November 30, 20169 yr What about the Ducks bringing back their former OC, Scott Frost, as HC? He has done a remarkable job at UCF, taking an 0-12 team and making them bowl eligible in his first season there. I was impressed by his offense last Saturday. He made it clear he will do what he needs to to win, even when out manned.
