November 18, 20169 yr Do you think it will carry over through the UK game? :whistling: I think UK will smell wounded dog...
November 18, 20169 yr This is a perfect example of why there's no need to go to 8 teams in the playoff. Everything works itself out by season's end. We will disagree on this forever.
November 18, 20169 yr Here's the positive for UL: you now don't have to worry about Bama's front 7. Another positive, IMO, is the distraction of the playoff is gone.
November 18, 20169 yr Surprised no one has mentioned the Houston crowd noise as a major factor. I was impressed how their fans became such a substantial part of the game. Numerous and very timely drive killing offensive penalties against UL were a direct result of the inability to hear snap count. Thought the fans played as big a role in this game's flow as I have ever seen.
November 18, 20169 yr We will disagree on this forever. Who are these 8 teams that legit deserve a shot this season? By expanding the playoff, you're rendering the regular season less and less important.
November 18, 20169 yr Another positive, IMO, is the distraction of the playoff is gone. If the playoff game is a distraction and not a motivation, you have the wrong players in your program. The cracks in the OLine and lack of creativity in the running game were exposed last night. A team that athletic is going to hurt you if you can't get some semblance of a power running game and screen game working.
November 18, 20169 yr Houston played one half of football and then started preparing for next game. The Cards are better than they showed but def. not a top 5 type team.

The cracks in the OLine and lack of creativity in the running game were exposed last night. A team that athletic is going to hurt you if you can't get some semblance of a power running game and screen game working. Obviously it's motivation. But it can also be a distraction when you focus so much on whether you're in or not instead of playing the game. The oline wasn't exposed last night. Anybody who has watched Louisville at all over the past 2-3 years knows the offensive line is terrible. And the play calling was terrible last night, I agree.
November 18, 20169 yr "Came across this on Twitter" = have been working on this for 8 hours.
November 18, 20169 yr "Came across this on Twitter" = have been working on this for 8 hours. haha, I can't do that kind of work in Microsoft Paint :lol2:
November 18, 20169 yr This is a perfect example of why there's no need to go to 8 teams in the playoff. Everything works itself out by season's end. EXACTLY! In fact it almost always worked it out when we only had two teams going to a title game. If you go to 8 there will be just as much screaming yelling and controversy because that's what the media likes to do
November 18, 20169 yr He and Brian K are too much alike maybe for ND to consider him...But I think the boosters at Texas would be all about some Petrino...until he got there. Not sure Texas wants to go back to the UL well right after Charlie Strong.
