I honestly don't think they'd care. They know, regardless of who they line up against, if they execute like they should, ain't no one hanging with them.

Yeah but they could execute poorly against Kentucky and still win by 3 TD's.

So if given the choice between playing Kentucky or Clemson for instance, it doesn't matter? There's always an order.
Not sure what in the world Kentucky has to do with this conversation. But since you are having trouble with the list I will posted it again. Here it is:

You are clearly missing my point. There are teams that they would rather play than others. I used Kentucky as an example of a bad team they would choose to play over a good team. What part of that is not making any sense?

To be fair, I often miss your points about college football too.

Just kidding :lol2:

I like 8 because it opens the door for a team like USC this year to sneak in there. Nobody wants any part of USC right now, not even Bama.

Doesn't mean they are scared of USC, but I don't think there are 3 teams in the country that they would want to play less than USC.

Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson? Who else would you put ahead of them as far as teams that you wouldn't want to play before USC. They have 2 top 10 wins and just stomped Washington on the road. Not saying they should be ranked any higher than where they are, but they're dangerous.

If I'm Bama my list of teams of I wouldn't want to play is as follows:

No, I didn't miss the point you tried to make but you clearly missed my so I've put it all here for you to get caught up.

And given the choice between UK and Austin Peay they'd choose Austin Peay. Does that mean they don't want any part of UK?

Everything I've said is relative to other teams.

It's alright I don't hide my despise for a certain team.

The problem is it never ends. When it was 2 we needed 4, now it's 4 and we need 8. As soon as it's 8 there will be arguments over the 9 and 10 team getting left out and people will be screaming for 16.

How can anyone want less actual elimination games based on earning them as opposed to de facto elimination games based on conference affiliation and scheduling? A March Madness-esque tournament isn't feasible since they can only play once a week, but who doesn't agree that basketball has the most enjoyable postseason from a fan's perspective of any sport? What is the downside of making a tournament more like that?

You don't have to watch the regular season. That's the downside of college basketball unless you are just an absolute diehard fan like UKMF is. March Madness is fantastic because it's you lose and your out. The whole college football season feels like that.

I think that's more of a result of only having a chance to see your team play 12 games. The stakes might be slightly lower, but you're still trying to qualify and still trying to get a better seed. Plus, losses make the end goal more difficult to attain, but your ceiling stays higher for longer.

Any person who thinks the Kentucky playoff system has too many teams in it but is in favor of expanding the college football playoffs to 8 teams is being hypocritical.

In other words, the 1 vs 8 and 2 vs 7 games will almost always be a waste of time. Anyone who disagrees, please pick who you think is number 8 right now and tell me if they have a chance against Alabama.

If we just go with the current rankings, we'd have:

1 - Alabama vs. 8 - Penn State - BLOWOUT

You may disagree, but my thoughts on college basketball are as long as your team loses 10 games or less you're fine. I don't start paying close attention until after the Super Bowl. I don't need to watch the first 3 months of the season. I'll watch February and March and I'll tell you who is going to win.

I agree. Trace McSorley would run all over that overrated Bama defense. Also have you seen Penn States special teams? They'll block every Bama punt and kick. I would predict PSU 48 Bama 6. Haha
