Might As Well Talk About It

Intended or unintended, there is a horrible segment of this country that feels vindicated today. The racist, sexist, bigoted portion of society feels like they won and that is the root of so many minority groups feeling like they do right now.

The question going forward is how enabled those groups feel to move from the shadows and into the light with their hate. They truly feel they have a leader that represents them now running the country. That's horrifying...

It is my absolute #1 concern and only major concern. David Duke said he got DT elected, his words paraphrased.

Its a shame really. This group was the most vocal in their support towards DJT, but this group did not elect him. Those who have expressed these beliefs have already been out and we can identify them and call them out on their bigotry.

Good question.

To many problems are painted as white vs. black, LGBT vs "straight", and rich vs. poor.

That's not the case.

It is those who want to make a good living, mind their business, have their rights not infringed on, and thier money not taken away vs those who think government is the answer to all our problems.

A Trump Presidency will either reset the system or push everything to the left so far that it will blow up in middle Americas face.

There was no question involved in my statement...

Duke had zero impact on this election as far as getting anyone elected. A lot of "Deplorable People" voted for Obama and Bill Clinton in the past, did their feelings and hopes of domination determine the either President's agenda?

There was no question involved in my statement...

That is factually accurate, your initial thread starter would appear to be based on fallacy and unfounded fear....

This election had nothing to do any minority position....it had to do with people who are absolutely tired of the system and how it has impacted the United States, nothing more, nothing less.

David Duke is a non-factor...he's just opportunistic in his media grab...

I got Donald Trump elected, along with about 59 million of my deplorable, bigoted, xenophobic, misogynistic associates.

Welcome to BGP. Great first post!

Oh wait a minute.....I meant to say, Welcome back to BGP great post

So NOW we want to dial back the rhetoric based in unfounded fear.... :lol2:

There are a lot of racist and sexist liberals who are hurt too.

So NOW we want to dial back the rhetoric based in unfounded fear.... :lol2:

I haven't wavered one bit in my perspective since Day 1. What people are missing in this past cycle is not that either candidate is the best option, but that the entire system has been exposed as corrupt.

The most disturbing part of the entire process is that we now know without a doubt that the media is far and away the worst enemy of the citizens of the United States. They continued to lie all the way until the end.....

If you believed the rhetoric of the mainstream media, then you got caught up in a herd mentality...which is exactly the strategy that was used by both sides in this race....one just had all the questions and insider information at their disposal.

So NOW we want to dial back the rhetoric based in unfounded fear.... :lol2:

Rhetoric was cranked up to 10 during the election coming from both sides during the election, shouldn't we dial it down once the election is over?

One side of the country feels they won and are empowered, we could have written this narrative in 2008 as well. Move on.

It appears alot wanted it.

That map doesn't tell the whole story. Even though the areas shaded in blue are small in terms of the space they take up, in terms of population, they represent roughly 50% of the country, and include nearly every major city. In reality that map isn't showing that a far greater number of people support and vote Republican. What it really shows is that voting lines are almost squarely drawn between urban and rural areas. While you can say a lot wanted it, since Clinton won (or will likely win) the popular vote, it appears more wanted Clinton.
