There is also a small minority of rural white America that is nasty and filled with hate, and I have concerns that segment will now feel empowered because "they won" and start lashing out. You never voiced concern when the other side was being attacked by the paid operatives of the democratic supporters. Now the losers are busing in protesters to cause havoc. I believe that the reason the results were so shocking and counter to what most of the polls were saying is that there were a lot of folks polled who were too embarrassed and/or ashamed to let anyone know publicly that they were going to vote for Candidate Trump. Just a gut feeling.

 

I don't think they were embarrassed . I just think they were tired of being called racist, sexist etc when they told people they were voting for President-elect Trump.

As others have said there are two sides to the coin. There is also a small segment of urban less white america that is nasty and full of hate. The proof of which can be found on Twitter as well. Just as the election of Obama didn't signal the end of racism in American, neither will the election of Trump bring about an increase in racism. Racist people are the way they are and do the things that they do dispite whomever the president elect would have been.

And that is where we disagree. It has been a hidden in the dark issue that folks don't openly talk about in recent times. I fear a return to those segments of the population returning to how they acted in the 50s and 60s in more situations than I am comfortable with seeing. That is already playing out, and I see it getting a lot worse before it gets better. Those people feel their beliefs won the election, and hiding their rage is no longer necessary. Hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I will be...

This is nothing more than inflammatory rhetoric. If you fear this, you don't live in the same America I do.

 

I live in rural America, and am white. If I see anything like that happening or about to happen, I'll make good use of my CCDW to put down such racism or bigotry. Anyone in my community would also.
