I dont think it is s widespread as some as some would like to think. This isn't the 1960's anymore. To act like it is is a disservice to all of those that have worked so hard to this point to overcome racism. Does racism still exist, yes. Should we. continue to strive to eradicate it? Absolutely. Should we act like no progress has been made? No.

 

I agree with you that we've come a long away, nor was I suggesting that we hadn't, but I stand firmly behind what I originally said, and if that does not apply to you, then kudos to you for not being a racist.

 

The old adage that you referred to would be valid if I considered everyone who disapproves of Obama as being a racist, but I don't, and more than not what I said about those who suggest that he has done more to harm race relations in this country is pretty spot on.

Progress has certainly been made. I wouldn't go as far as to label it great.

I am registered as a Republican, but I would be far from their norm as I would tend to be liberal on environmental issues, moderate on social issues and conservative when it comes to economic/tax issues. I haven't had much to choose from. To answer the question...maybe it is a matter of having principles or not. The democrats won the last two elections because they are collectively able to design a platform and take party unity and collecting blocks of special interest votes over what we traditionally would have considered the "will of the majority". 10% +10% +10% +10% +11% > 49%. They have wisely taken advantage of media, shifting demographics, increasing narcissism to collect enough votes to win a national election. As long as the balances of government are in place, our system will survive. That balance is jeopardized every bit as much as the lobbyists/PAC's/media influencing Congress and the Senate as by the Presidential choice. What is the worst is that we have more and more people who are incredibly stupid enough to believe that Bernie Sanders and socialism is a creditable choice for our country. People COME to our country to enjoy the best chance that they can enjoy the fruits of their efforts. We seem to have more and more people who 1) want to enjoy the fruits of other people's efforts; and 2) make sure everyone has the same level of enjoyment regardless of effort. That won't work for long.

Securing our borders

Supreme Court appointments

 

I don't know how Trump is going to handle those either, but I just feel more comfortable with him than her on those topics.

Maybe his views do conform with yours, but I just don't see how he would be able to get anything accomplished if he were to get elected. He can't even garner the full support of his own party. No way he'll be able to bring both sides together to get any meaningful legislation passed. I don't know that he has the tact or wherewithal to accomplish anything.

When a kid acts up enough to get tossed from a private school, that school has no control over where the kid goes after that. They certainly cannot mandate that the parents send them to a public school. Very likely, the parents will try to find another private school that might accept the student, before sending their kid to a failing public.

Thats one of the biggest problems with Trump. He doesn't have any plans. He has a very broad tax plans that only really outlines what the tax brackets are and nothing else. He wants to build a wall... cool... He says we have to replace Obamacare. With what? He never tells us what a 'Trumpcare' would look like. He says we have to defeat ISIS obviously, but he seems to think having his finger pressed against the nuclear trigger is the proper plan of action. That is a scary thought.

He's the worst Presidential candidate of all time. In an election that should've been a landslide victory for the Republicans, he's managed to turn it into the polar opposite. A landslide victory for Hillary.

 

I don't disagree (And I'm probably voting for him, simply due to the fact that he is the only major candidate that claims to be prolife (I hope he really means this)) however, worst of all time I guess depends on how you judge the outcome. He will certainly fair better in the electoral college than some have, however, the bar is not being set very high by his opponent. A decent Democrat would win in a landslide. (Reagan like numbers)

I would rather suffer through a Trump presidency where nothing he wants gets accomplished than have an Clinton presidency where she accomplishes anything. I'd be fine for the country to just stay status quo for the next four years when hopefully both parties could come up with options of someone who would be a decent president.

I can't speak with any base of knowlege about the Special Education programs at most private schools. I have no idea how many kids each school has in those programs. Do you?
