Projected Lineups For 9th and 10th

Featured Replies

I wouldnt count out St. Pat or Bracken to pull an upset. They play in first round with Augusta/Nicholas in thier bracket, so either team should be rested.

Be sure to not count out Augusta. They should be favored to make the finals out of that bracket. I rank the four teams in this order:

1. Augusta

2. St. Pat

3. Bracken Co.

4. Nicholas Co.

And to stick with the thread I see Augusta starting the following:

G Josh White - sr

G Jeremy Hardymon - sr

F Dustin Staggs - jr

F Matt Groves - sr

C Chris Mofford - so

It amazes me that outside of "uber-athelete" Josh Conner, nobody gives the Soph class at HHS any respect. JC may not even play hoops. Lother will be strictly Frosh until the season is over. Jordan Messer, Eric Kyle, Mitchell Fair, Jake Turner, Austin Geisting should all have legit shots at making the varsity roster.

Do these guys step over jrs and seniors that are already in the program? Unless Willie is going to dress 15 I have my doubts. I am sensing a Shieldsesque pattern with Willie. Unless a soph is really special they will hone their skills at the JV level.

I think Simpson and McGraw are definite starters with the other 3 spots up for grabs by the Soph's, Junior's, and Senior's in the program.

Probably right. I think Willie has always been high on "Basketball only" players as well, especially in the younger grades; but he may have to change some habits at Highlands, since football is king!!

I said "legit shots"...'Crunch is correct that most the sophs will be JV fodder..and should be. The Sophs don't even get a mention and there is a lot of raw talent there. Lother ain't even in the mix yet...and he will be a special player one day! Only 2 of the 6 Sophs play FB. But as Squatty found out, you can't win at HHS w/o the FB players.

I don't remember any FB players on the 79 team argueably Shields' best HHS team. I agree that a FB player or two is good for the bball program, but half or more playing fball hinders the program as evidenced by the decline in HHS basketball. The Lorenzens and Smiths come along once in a "blue moon". Willie needs to distance himself from the football players and work on bball only kids, that is the only way he can get the program back on its feet.IMO

I'm not sure the ruling is final. The appeal has been heard, so a final ruling should be upcoming.

Not sure its true or not, but just received word from a reliable source that Nate will be playing for Gallatin this year. Maybe polarbear could give us a little more insight?

Also I saw Austin Hill (of Holmes) the other night, and that kid is HUGE! I can't wait to see him play this year. He has got to be every bit of 6'4 now and he looks as if he's been hitting the weights hard...Definetly a bit bigger from last year.

I agree Crunch...there are enough kids at the school that they can focus on the BB only kids and if the Football kids can help out then that is just an added bonus. This upcoming season though I see a lot of football players out there getting a lot of fouls.

I thought i had a pretty good grasp of the english language but i don't know what an "uber-athlete" is. Can you inform me please.

Uber= to the max, the ultimate.

Thanks cch5432.I don't think i have ever heard that word before. I looked it up and it said it was derived from French, meaning forever present. I guess we learn something everyday. Thanks again.

BTW, those of you who were wondering, Greg Rice is officially back at Holmes and will be with the team this year. Does this put Holmes back to the favorite in the 9th with or without Edmondson?
