Tulsa Police Shooting Questioned

Featured Replies

The NBC article delving into her PAST . Not talking about the choice of Taser vs Gun. -- of note the article calls the guy " a gentle church going man " or something like that .. and the article states the guy was shot as his hands were up as if it were fact . Which its not .

Still very early to make that statement with any certainty, IMO.

Of course I'm basing it off needing help with a broken down vehicle... from my perspective he wasn't doing anything to feel like a threat. Again, that's what it appears to me

^Do you know him? How do you know he wasn't a "gentle church going man"?

Are you not smearing him? You claimed he "go putting your hands where a cop with a weapon drawn can't see them"....You state that he did that as a fact, which it's not.

Just heard on the radio that there weren't any drugs found in the car. If so, then we'll have to wait on the toxicology reports, right?

PCP was found in the truck.

Interesting but irrelevant in regards to good or bad shoot.

Is there a link? First thing I heard on the radio this morning was that no drugs or guns were found in his car.

Where was he going? Why did he just keep walking away from them?

He hadn't broken any laws. Do police uproach everyone who breaks down or gets a flat tire with weapons drawn ordering them to a search position. I don't get the show of force on a stranded motorist.

A guy high on PCP disobeying cops orders doesn't sound like the gentle church guys I know . That's my brilliant deduction .

Are we still debating if the windows were open or not?

Were you there? Have you heard some audio from the incident that no one else has?

You've seen the toxicology report? Please send us a link. Otherwise you're not dealing with facts at all, which is what you attacked the article for doing.

Did you see the picture in the article that seems to show the driver's window rolled up with blood smeared on it?

To be fair, the video you quoted on is not even in the same ballpark as the video from the Tulsa event.

NO! We don't know what exactly happened or what was said, but the video of the tragic event in 98 the pickup trunk was pulled over, speeding, not what one would think would start a gunfight, but he the LEO pulled that guy over. Also, the actions of that guy from the 98 video, and especially after he mentioned that he was a Vietnam Vet, with his actions, without looking back at that event, I'd think that some mental condition was at play.

Hopefully the Tulsa event will get cleared up soon, but it's not a good sign when the police chow said that they were disturbed by the shooting.

Was she racist? I don't know. Was she scared? I'd say yes. Was she scared when she "maybe" shouldn't be? Possibly.

First bolded...not the same, but a LOT of similarities, especially the basics...guy is out of vehicle, disobeys commands, goes back to vehicle. On the main points they are very similar.

Second bolded. Why do you think most traffic stops are made? Thousands of altercations start with pulling someone over because they were speeding, weaving, bad tail light, etc. Those (and other relatively "minor" traffic offenses) are the very reason most cars are pulled over to start with. So yes, ANY stop has the potential to go bad simply because the officer usually has no clue who he is stopping. And thinking that a stop won't go bad simply because the officer pulled a guy over for speeding is the sort of thinking that can catch an officer off guard and find him/herself "in it" quick.
