Tim Tebow to Try Professional Baseball

Featured Replies

Well, it would be hard to do much worse than a .226/.309/.656 slash line and 126 strikeouts in 486 plate appearances and keep a job.

He not only kept his job with those numbers, but he also got promoted. Tebow was without a doubt the best 30 year old in high A last year.

You guys are forgetting his stellar 1-18 Spring Training, complete with 11 K's. If that doesn't scream promotion, well, I don't know what does.

After 13 years away from the game I think that's not too bad. That's why I'm interested to see how he does this year. I guess he'll continue to get the chance as long as he puts people in the seats.

Let's not get it twisted. That's horrible. It would get any non-sideshow player released.

.226/.274/.563 and nearly 3 to 1 K to BB in 2015...Welcome to the sideshow Billy Hamilton!!!

Not another player in the game was away that long, I like the story and I think it's enough to keep trying. But that's me, I don't dog people for pursuing their dreams.

One homerun erases months of being terrible? Oh... :lol2:

I've said for years Hamilton is a novelty act. He'd be much better used as a pinch runner/ defensive replacement than an everyday player.

Tebow is now on a 5-game hit streak and looking better and better at the plate. He has raised his season average to .250.

He's batting .353 in the last 8 days after a slow start.

I haven't followed but looked at his stats. He must have started horrible. I show he has 8 hits on the season so if he has a 5 game hitting streak, it must have been bad. He has struck out 44% of the time at the plate and only has one walk.

Hopefully, he continues in the right direction.

He started the season 2-15 with 8 strikeouts.

Since then, 5-game hitting streak, 7-17 (.353 average) and 6 strikeouts.

That’s with a .444 babip. It could get really bad once his babip corrects to league average.

He is actually playing pretty good baseball. But you keep hating :thumb:

He’s hitting .224 and ignoring his 8 walks, has struck out in exactly half of his at bats for the season. That’s not setting the bar real high to be “pretty good”
