Heartwarming story out of Marion County

Recommended Posts

Two years ago in the spring of 2014, while Tom Brown was still the AD at Bethlehem, he sent over a lily to Marion Co. HS intended for their football coach, Jeff Robbins, who was in the late stages of cancer. Robbins died a few months later, and the Knights struggled in a winless 2015 season where emotions surely still weighed heavy upon the kids.

Fast-forward to this week: Tom Brown is the interim principal at Marion Co., which now has a new coaching staff under first-year coach Allen Harmon (Brown's nephew). That lily that Brown sent over has been in the front office at Marion Co. HS ever since 2014.

Yesterday, for MCHS' first day of school, that lily bloomed for the first time. I'm sure it's just a coincidence and has nothing to do with Coach Robbins smiling down upon his former school and football program. :sssh:
