Clay Travis: Calipari is paying players

Featured Replies

What if he's right?

Can he prove it? Doubtful... Until then it's nothing more than the other 1,000 Calipari click bait articles/radio promos. If this was someone with some credibility it might mean something. It's Clay Travis.

I hope Travis gets sued.

That's a whole lot of dirt and lawyers are good at snooping under rugs. Like I said, Cal will be strongly advised against this course of action.

The wiser course of action would be to come up with another deflective talking point to get the national media talking about something else, like he did with the Willis incident.

What if Calipari has done nothing wrong? Why is it always assumed that he's guilty of something?

Because we all have common sense.

Then I believe the death penalty is in order.

For Calipari or Travis?

My thoughts on the subject is this guy simply doesn't like Calipari and is just tossing stuff out there for the publicity of it.

Cal hasn't paid a player anything. He doesn't have to with how he has built the UK brand to a higher level, and it was high to begin with.

There's too much risk in paying money to players. It just takes one disgruntled transfer or former player to spill the beans, so the best idea is to keep the beans in the bean bags.

UK is under the microscope to such an intense degree that it would be foolish to pay players in order to sign them.

So if this was true, does the Bolden family not like money, or did someone in Durham up the ante?

You get more money at Duke cause when you go there, you're set for life.....:D

Then lay out the proof.

Sent Shaq $50,000 so he would guide his son to UK. Right. Why else would Shaq tell his son to go to UK. Can't be because Cal does a great job of getting these kids drafted. Stop the silliness!

Nothing to see here. He basically even admits that he just assumes Cal is paying players to go to UK. Quite honestly if he was still at Memphis or UMass then maybe could believe it having a chance to be true.

If players are getting paid and basically living a dream life while at UK, and chances to be stars and play for championships. Then there would be no reason to leave after 1 year unless you know your a top pick. It just makes no sense. Players come to UK because they will be showcased, a chance to win championships and knowing they will end up getting paid in one year when they go pro.

Simple - it's Clay Travis. You honestly shouldn't waste a second on anything he has to say.

Yeah but he is a billion times more credible than Matty Bangs Jones and for some insane reason uk fans think Jones is credible and reliable.

This is simply inaccurate and false! uk was not recruiting at a high level nor achieving at a crazy high level until Cal and World Wide Wesley arrived! Heck, uk fans themselves said he was the biggest scumbag cheater in sports, but when he comes to uk, all of a sudden clean! SMH!

So Cal cheated at UMass and Memphis but not at uk, because uk always get the best recruits (NO THEY WEREN'T) and because a kid is just dying to go play basketball in Lexington (NO THEY AREN'T). The truth is that uk started recruiting when Cal and World Wide Wesley arrived, just as he did at UMass and Memphis.

uk fans need to wake up and understand that you were saying the exact same thing when he was at Memphis, but now, he's at uk so all good.

I mean, if you were looking for me to disagree on Jones' credibility, you'll have to look elsewhere. They're cut from the same cloth, and neither has any credibility with me.
