I agree with you JOAT. It does start from the top down. You wonder why the coach's at CovCath bands the basketball kids from not posting anything on social media they know something classless in my opinion.

I'm glad there wasn't social media in my day. Wow it would have been out of control!!

The 1st thing Ron Zook told my nephew and the rest of the Incoming Freshman that year at Illinois.....Delete all of your Social Media accounts! It destroys recruits and sometimes hurts the families....

If people were honest, most of NKY can't stand them. The one thing that I noticed is their bench is like a bunch of trained monkeys. When I watched them against Conner and other games, when they made a good play the bench looks around at each other and it's like "OK guys we have to stand up and clap now" instead of it being a natural reaction. During the game at Conner a player went down. When he got up not one Cov. Cath. player clapped for him. Not saying that they had to clap for the player, but I guess that is part of their tough guy image that the coaches try to instill in them. If a lot of NKY b-ball fans are honest, a majority of them root against them if they make it to the sweet 16.

Also saw a Retweet of a Local kid that I coached in Football about a Snap Chat from CVH making fun of NewCath's failure in the Semi's. It was a picture that CVH took of NCC's bench in the closing minutes of yesterday's game mocking them about Dreaming of Rings. Really? The last time I checked NCC was playing and he was watching. Keep it Classy son! Dissapointing to say the least. What was even more disappointing was the other CCH's followers reactions of piling on with pictures of their very own rings. Happy for the NCC family for representing NKY with Class!

 

I think CVH needs to worry more about working on his game right now than snap chats. Really didn't have a D1 prospect type of year.

Well.....the NCC response from players has been fine.....the response from one parent has been the only negative post from NCC that I have seen. Lets just say one parent is definitely throwing down the gauntlet and is explaining why he/she flipped off the crazies at the regional and is letting everyone know that where they come from this is a reason to get nasty.

Teenagers and Twitter don't mix. Unfortunately we get a lot of it though. Whenever Cov Cath is playing a game I often use Twitter for updates. I'll usually just type in "Cov Cath" and I'll usually be able to see someone tweet an update. Unfortunately, there is always tweets involving cuss words and homophobic slurs directed at Cov Cath from whoever they are playing. But the Cov Cath kids are usually not completely innocent, usually tweeting just as dumb things. Doesn't matter the school, teenagers and Twitter don't mix.

And I want to reiterate the NCC players have really shown restraint and class from everything I have seen reposted on facebook. I think Coach Dawn has surely had a hand in that. Very impressed with their handling of the situation.

They're kids. Who cares what they say about other teams? Anyone on here who says they didn't mock opposing schools when they were in high school is lying or in deep denial. Let it go!

So many grown kids on this site. Moaning about the "re-tweet of a snap chat" of a teenager. Get a life.

I think it's about RESPECT - teach them when they are young and correct them when they screw up (so they can apologize/make it right)...so many parents have no clue what their lil angels are doing. The rest of the world sees it though! I check all of my children's social media and if we think it's inappropriate - We let them know.

For someone that throws a tantrum, virtually every time HHS is criticized on BGP, you sure like to dish it out. Knuckle head behavior is not the norm at CCH. Of course, it does happen and it is disappointing when it does. On the flip side, there are so many good things done on a daily basis by members of the CCH community. I think the "top" at CCH is just fine.

 

To the other posters that believe that the rest of NKY roots against CCH - what else is new? You're breaking my heart.

 

Congrats to NCC on a great season and as a proud alum of CCH, I apologize for any legitimate social media idiocy posted by members of the CCH community. I know kids will be kids, but they know better.
