  1. Still trying to figure out why this thread title, and why it is in High School basketball thread. He/it had nothing to do with Highlands basketball.
  2. I think it's about RESPECT - teach them when they are young and correct them when they screw up (so they can apologize/make it right)...so many parents have no clue what their lil angels are doing. The rest of the world sees it though! I check all of my children's social media and if we think it's inappropriate - We let them know.
  3. AMEN - these boys are a team!! Takes the whole team to win - even players that don't see the floor as much contribute in many different ways!!! Go Breds!!!
  4. Living in the same community - a lot of people have mutual friends and people say things they have heard from coaching staff...how much of it is true or misconstrued I don't know but either way it doesnt matter...let's let it go. Ben's not interested in going there anyway.
  5. His limited quickness and ball skills have gotten him this far...he may have struggled with a few athletic players bodying him up but learned from it and came out ahead of them. His high school record is 115 and 15...There's always going to be someone better than you...Ben knows that and learns from it.
  6. Most of you don't know Ben Weyer. If he were to read this - the negativity would just motivate him! You're always going to have people try to cut you down. What that boy, yes boy has accomplished in his high school basketball career many only dream of. Not sure the definition of rescinding an offer is- but NKU is not where Ben wanted to go to school D1 isn't every players top priority - a good education, good chemistry with the team and coaches are what Ben was looking for and got! Those of you who have supported Ben - thank you and those who continue to diminish his accomplishments -that's on you. Go Breds!! Final Four is great but strive for more!!!
  7. Wow if we knew you were going to promote his website we would have updated it. 150 hits in 3 hours, not bad. It hasn't been updated since last summer!! The perks of having a brother studying web design at UK
  8. That would be the WHOLE team - I think they've all been there since 9th grade
  9. If this is the case, how do you know he didn't play defense? Plus all games are different and what players are needed to do at certain times and games also varies. I think saying that he didn't play defense is an unfair statement. But you are entitled to your opinion. **I stand corrected you stated at the end from what you've seen him play this season. I understood it to be what you saw last night**
  10. Shout out to HHS Senior boys - it's been a pleasure watching you boys grow into the men you are today!
  11. Not sure who "leaked" the offer but I can tell you Coach Bezold came up to Ben and his parents and said he'd been watching Ben and liked what he saw. He thought Ben would help his team and that he'd like to extend an offer for Ben play for him. He also said he was going to offer Ben at the Trinity game but it was cancelled bc of snow. That is why we considered it an OFFER. Ben never accepted the offer nor did he decline it ...Coach Bezold left and we assumed the offer left with him. There is a difference between a receiving an offer and accepting said offer. Back to what this thread is about - Ben played with Carson this past summer in the Nike EYBL League and agree that Carson is a great player and kid! Ben is just honored to be nominated for this award. Good luck to all the boys who's hard work has been noticed and that are also up for the award of Mr Kentucky.
  12. READ thru the posts - NO WHERE does it say Ben accepted the offer! I said earlier we assumed that when new coaches came to NKU that if they wanted him they would offer. They did not - which is fine. NKU is too close to home for Ben. He wants that away from home college experience and had plenty of schools to choose from. He chose Bellarmine and is excited about the chance to play for Coach Davenport and the team. I couldn't care less where it was as long as He is happy and getting a good education that he won't have to struggle to pay for!!!!
  13. I'm saying it was his first offer and he never accepted it. He was a junior and had much interest expressed. He hadn't even visited any campuses and no deadline was given.
  14. Don't really care about NKU Coaching staff but I do know one thing it's free trial idiots like you that ruin this site
  15. where's this thread you speak of...only one I know of says he was offered! I will gladly tell that to any of the NKU coaches(but they already know) but most D1 current and previous coaches don't waste their time on these silly threads...except maybe you
  16. OK, being that I am his parent and with him every step of this process the emotional attachment is great but your information is inaccurate. I am not going to argue with you about what you know nothing about...but I will not let you lie about my son. Whoever is giving you the information is wrong...plain and simple.
  17. No, you might check your facts. Whoever told you Weyer committed to NKU last year is as delusional as you are. He only committed to one school and that is Bellarmine. Only thing you have right about Weyer is that he did get an offer from the previous NKU staff. Nothing was ever rescinded - as the new staff came on it was assumed the offer was no longer on the table unless they re-offered.
  18. Originally Posted by WhoozYoDaddy View Post I am sure that basketball was not the overriding factor in the family's decision for Ben to attend NCC. He is not a transfer student. He was enrolled at both high schools and made the decision over the summer as to which high school he wanted to attend. Ben and his family made a decision that was best for him in all aspects of his education - academically, socially. He chose which high school he would like to attend like most students do when leaving middle school. Not sure why this is constantly brought up but its a decision neither he nor his parents regret. FYI - His sister is currently an 8th grader at Highlands Middle School and has the same decision ahead of her. Ben's older sister considered NCC also but chose to go to Highlands.
  19. Saying a kid who s 9th region player of the year has no athletic ability is bashing - bashing quite a few kids in that case. You've admitted you don't know anything about Bellarmine and NKU so how can you comment on how good they are or aren't?
