February 24, 201610 yr I know there is already a thread on this, but wow... Lawsuit: Tennessee coach Butch Jones called player a 'traitor'
February 25, 201610 yr What the heck is going on at UT?? Geez! If this proves to be true, Jones is total scum.
February 25, 201610 yr What is wrong with these young people? Your life is threatened for giving assistance to a young woman in distress. And then your coach doesn't back you up for doing the right thing.
February 25, 201610 yr Well of course he said that. What else is he going to say? This may just end up being a he said/he said situation so we may never know the real story. The two players have been charged with rape however.
February 25, 201610 yr I just finished reading the info on the lawsuit against UT. While shocking to those who have little to do with college athletics other than being a fan, the reality is those accusation are standard operating procedure ate most places. Male athletes are cogs in a huge money machine, they get by with and are allowed to do things most other students would be punished for.
February 25, 201610 yr Butch said it never happened. I don't know, but his believability is about on the same level as Clinton right now, for me anyway.
February 25, 201610 yr For a number of years the Tennessee athletics program has been battling mediocrity. Knoxville is a tough recruiting sell. While other SEC schools have passed them by UT has been forced to take some players who are questionable characters. There have been a number incidents in recent years and I believe they will continue.
February 25, 201610 yr If true he should be dismissed ASAP but he won't be because they are starved for winning football down there. First reports I read on this said some coaches were present when the player was jumped, if that's true they along with Jones should be fired.
February 25, 201610 yr Like everything else, two sides of the story. I'm sure Jones would have preferred that no player had assisted and they had stood together as a team to dispute her claims. Also read that Jones later apologized for calling the player a traitor. Why apologize if you never said it? If coaches saw the attack, it's a must go situation for this football staff. Wonder if the guy that went to EKU has anything to add?
February 25, 201610 yr If this is remotely true, I don't know how he keeps his job now. Unless the player recants his story. Yeah, that's never happened before.
