I'm sure this will go over like a fart in church, but I expected more from Goodin this season. Maybe unrealistic, but it is what it is, for me at least.

If Taylor County had put together the type of PR campaign that Owen County did for Williams, Goodin might have won.

Might help if the young man could shoot outside of the paint. Xavier knows they have recruited a great athlete, but he will have to improve that shooting and it is going to take a complete committment from him. Hope he is up for the project as his greatness will only be recognized provided he is.

Carson Williams also had a tremendous PR campaign put together by the Owen County people, including lots of publicity here on BGP. Remember the thread comparing Carson to Larry Bird?!?! That thread received all kinds of play on twitter, Facebook, it even made some local radio talk shows. The PR machine of Owen County helped Williams, Goodin received very little PR statewide.

The poster that started the Larry Bird thread was NOT an Owen County person.

FYI. An email was sent to all coaches from both Williams and Goodin's coaches promoting them for Mr. Basketball

One thing is for certain; Q Goodin stirs a lot of emotions around these parts.

As an all around player I would take Ben Weyer over Carson Williams and I am not taking anything away from Carson Williams, IMO Ben does more both offensively and defensively.

We sure have beat this dead horse to death that is for sure. Both are outstanding basketball players, you can only give the award to one person. Picking one of these guys was tough for a lot of people. I saw Ben Weyer for the first time and thought he was an excellent player this week. Its just a matter of what you want as a coach I think. Carson plays so hard that it gets him votes, attitude, effort, skill all there. Its why I voted for him. I know my screen name is 8th region warrior so some may say I am biased. I just think the whole package was there for him that coaches want. If it were based on potential I think Goodin gets the award.
