afi100guy Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 related to his "build a wall" stance on immigration. Pope says Trump 'not Christian,' Trump calls comment 'disgraceful'
LOOGY Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The pope is wrong on the border issue. It's more of a national security issue to me than an illegal immigrant issue. With open borders who knows what can get in here. But I do love shots at Trump from anyone, especially the holiest person in humanity.
CBDV Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The Pope, who lives behind walls, said this? I'm shocked........
Wireman Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Meanwhile, there's a wall around The Vatican. How about the Pope stops judging people. He can't proclaim that people are "not Christian".
Getslow Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 The news media misquoted a religious leader? Imagine my shock.
Getslow Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Though on the other hand, if a man cannot serve both God and mammon, is there anyone alive right now that CLEARLY serves mammon quite like Donald Trump?
mcpapa Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 If it would ever chance that The Donald ran as a third-party candidate, the Mammon Party has a nice ring to it.
Hellcats Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I'm no Catholic nor theologian , but it seems this Pope is a wee bit more vocal in his attempts to erase national lines when it comes to the weak and needy. Trump is trying to build a wall which would be the exact opposite. Trump sees country...Pope sees people.
Watusi Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Fortunately for me and Donald, I'm thankful that it is God's sovereign territory to judge a person's Christianity and it isn't left up to man. The news media misquoted a religious leader? Imagine my shock. What did he actually say and how was it misquoted. I know nothing about this other than the headline.
jericho Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I think of my self as a Christian 1. I don't think a person in that position should claim or judge. 2. I have questioned Obama on that, but I'm not the Pope or a religious leader. I'm a sinner as anyone else. 3. I'm all for the wall because one, they are illegal, two, they are just using America for free food, housing, medical, money. Three, there is no way we can stop terrorist from entering America unless we secure the border. 4. The Pope needs to stick to matters more important than America closing the border to a bunch of illegals. 5. The Pope should worry about reasons the illegals are flooding into America and stop that. 6. Let him tear his wall down.
Hellcats Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Nice, pap. I doubt anyone on here even addresses it
jericho Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Maybe the Pope should ask Obama this instead of worrying about a wall. Why Are There Only 53 Christians Among America?s 2,184 Syrian Refugees? | Christianity Today
Twotoplace Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 What did he actually say and how was it misquoted. I know nothing about this other than the headline. The quote was exactly the same in the Reuters story in post #1 and in the National Catholic Reporter: "A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian."
