Did the pope offer up any clarification about whether he meant that Trump was not a Christian or that his actions were not Christian ?

 

He answered a question while standing in the press cabin on an airplane. I'd be stunned if he thought about this ever again. Besides, if you read the full quote, he doesn't go so far as the news articles make it sound.

I read exactly what he said , JMHO but he should make a clarification if his intent is being abused by the press world wide. It comes across to me as clear as pure air , he was judging the guy on his plan to secure our borders . Not exactly biblical , again , JMHO .

In that same interview, two sentences in his response to a subsequent stance made it seem to some reporters that he was softening the Church's position on contraception. That's been most of the Vatican Press Office's concern today.

 

I stand by my contention that the line in the reporter's initial question made it sound like Trump had no regard for splitting up families with his immigration plans, which is something the pope would find deeply troubling. Anything he said, I believe was said in response to that.

Obama is amused by the sentiments against saying someone is not a Christian.

What's next? Is Trump going to call Jesus a pussywillow (without the willow) ?

You leave your doors open and unlocked at your home? Some needy person may need your TV, socks, food, money, bed or anything else that you may value in your home. Why do you or any of us live in a home with doors and locks...not to be cruel to others we do it for our own security...nothing more nothing less. I'm sure you wouldn't be cool with random needy people just coming in and taking your home and family as they see fit would you?

Would you do the same if you lived in an apartment in downtown Cincy or NYC...I'll bet you leave your doors unlocked because of a perceived feeling of security that you feel living where you do. I'll guarantee you don't leave your home and cars unsecured because some needy person might need them.

 

But if you do leave your home open for those with needs, PM your address I need some new socks and need a better TV for my bedroom :lol2:

If you are needing my socks :eek: and my television sets, you're in a worse way than me and are welcome to them.

I feel this is a good reminder to Catholics and non Catholics about the teaching of Papal Infallibility.

 

1st, the Pope's word is infallible when speaking on matters of faith/salvation only.

 

2nd, this does not mean that the Church's stance is "anti-Trump" or that Catholics cannot vote for Trump. When the Pope speaks on matters such as this one, his word is an opinion.

 

 

With that being said, I am a practicing Catholic and I would vote for Trump only to keep Bernie or Hillary out of the Oval Office. Basically, with the politicians these days, I'm going to have to vote for the lesser of two evils.
