You leave your doors open and unlocked at your home? Some needy person may need your TV, socks, food, money, bed or anything else that you may value in your home. Why do you or any of us live in a home with doors and locks...not to be cruel to others we do it for our own security...nothing more nothing less. I'm sure you wouldn't be cool with random needy people just coming in and taking your home and family as they see fit would you?

 

The same goes for countries.

Who expects Mexico to build a wall? If our border is secured I think we'll be building it...not Mexico. There is no upside for Mexico to build it at this point unless the US pays them to do it...even then it would be more for US security than for Mexico to keep their people in. Mexico doesn't care. The more that get out of Mexico into the US, the more that send money back into their economy every year. Over $20,000,000,000 is sent back to Mexico each year from the US, that's a decent bump to their economy.

Sending money back is very common. I just met a guy who has sent most of his check for 16 years.

 

There's a lot of money earned here via illegals that never makes it's way back into our economy.

I am pretty sure that has been disproved. Think about it, a structure less than thirty feet wide able to be seen several hundred miles away? Even with the best optics lens, many cannot see it from space. I would think you would have a better chance seeing the pyramids. At night some large airports and highways can be identified but that has more to do with lights than seeing the actual structure.

I find Trump's constant belligerence deeply concerning for a man expected to run a State Department and a Defense Department. Which world leader does he alienate first? How many soldiers are killed in year one because he advocates a lunatic approach to counter-terrorism with no regard for our own soldiers, much less civilians abroad? I find a potential Trump presidency deeply disturbing for a great many reasons, the greatest of which is his complete unpredictability.

 

The man wears his refusal to straightforwardly answer policy questions like a badge of honor. Apart from this wall... what the devil is the man in favor of? He seems to be in favor of winning and not in favor of the other folks winning. Apart from that, what does he want?

 

I'm half joking here because I know he thinks he's going to single-handedly take on China and somehow get the Bretton Woods Institutions to follow him on it. I'm sure he also wants to lower taxes and re-write the Second Amendment to specifically allow him to have a private army.

 

In the end, I'm not concerned about whether Barack Obama or Trump is more unprepared because I don't have to pretend to be a great fan of either one.

That is somewhat where I am. Many of Obama's supporters have admitted the president did a very poor job with who he surrounded himself with in the White House as advisors and they haven't helped him out much at all. While I hope to never hear the phrase, President Trump, if it does happen, I do think who he selects will be an upgrade.

 

As far as his persona, I have to believe who he is in salesman mode and who he is in the board room are two different people otherwise, he would have failed miserably in his career hence why him in charge of the military is not my preference but also not my fear like it is now with our current president who is shown to be pretty weak.

For all of Trump's belligerence I'm appalled at the Pope's choice of words in this case . I'm not catholic but consider them just as Christian as I would those of the Protestant faith . I'd be just as sickened if James Dobson or Franklin Graham or Frances Chan claimed that a political position of any president decides one's eternal salvation or not . Its just for him not to judge . As for the argument he said one thing but he really meant something else. ahh NO . Just a terribly UNCHRISTIAN statement for a religious leader to make about an individual he knows nothing about .

Did the pope offer up any clarification about whether he meant that Trump was not a Christian or that his actions were not Christian ?
