10th Region POY

Featured Replies

I think it is Safe to pick the player headed to a D1 school as you are on the side of a D1 coach who chose him. No worries there.

However, I have seen Matt play several times and no doubt respect him as a player and he'll likely get the hardware.

But Can Jackson Crawford get a top 5 vote? Considering the teams success I think you do the 10th region a disservice if he's left off the so called ballot.

He's all 10th Region for sure based on pure performance and team leadership.

Catch this Rocketship to the Moon. There is still time.

Jackson Crawford deserves a nod as one of the top players in the tenth region for sure. Agree 100%. Those results speak for themselves as well. Great season so far and more to come I'm sure.

There are plenty of nice players in the 10th so yes, let's see how it shakes out. I tend to side with a player who leads his team to victory. With all due respect to others, it's easier to pump up stats on a bad team.

That said, the 10th is up for grabs. Should be fun.

sorry...I think we made them mad at districts.

That was quite the game, we had the best seat in the house!

Not to say Jackson Crawford isn't having a TREMENDOUS year but to imply Wilson is just getting consideration because of past years is erroneous. He has been very good this year too according to the stats on Riherds.

How did Crawford and Wilson do heads up in the Crosstown???

Mustang, love your sneakiness in asking the question you of all people know the answer. In nuetral floor setting, Brossart beats Camels 47-45. Crawford goes for 20 & 4. While Wilson gets 11 & 10.

I think I have to go with Wilson. For Bracken...If A. Crawford doesn't score big they don't win so his offensive stats are going to be better. For Wilson, he can affect the game defensively even if he doesn't score a ton.

1. Wilson

2. Ohmer

3. Crawford

4. Williams

5. Allen

Austin, Owens, or Jackson? Love 'em all, but am partial to Cindy. :)

Isn't that what defines a POY? A kid that makes his respective team better, take them out of the mix and where is that team?

Ummmm I feel like Pig Williams is getting very over looked. He's the best PG Mason Co has had since Jordan Gilbert. He and Caswell Fuller are the best true point guards the region has to offer.

Of course you do..

Is there a difference between Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player?

I think they are one and the same, just wording IMO. Could also use most outstanding player and mean the same thing.

In my opinion, a player whose team relies on them to score the bulk of their points, is obviously going to average more points, compared to a player whose team has other options.

I have said this more than once. Take fuller off of moco and they may win 7-8 games. He may not be the best in the 10th but he is the mvp in the region. Put him on any other team and that team is completely different. His intangibles make him the player of the year. He is the best "home grown" pg they have ever had.
