January 22, 201610 yr I was out sweeping my front porch and steps, and I got to meet my mail lady! Super nice lady. My neighbors are still avoiding my overtures, though. :lol2:
January 22, 201610 yr I just went out and shoveled a couple of paths. I took my tape measure and used it in 5 different places. Got 11 inches on 4 and a foot on another. And it's snowing so hard I can barely see the woods that are about 125 yards behind my house. It's snowed 6 inches since I was last outside 3 hours ago.

My fingers are crossed, because so far, I've been able to keep the back sidewalk, front porch and front steps cleared with just a broom. I've been out sweeping about every 20-30 minutes, but it will be worth it if I don't have to shovel all that plus the rest of the front walk, steps to the street, and sidewalk down at street level.

I started with a broom but it was already too deep to do much that way. I'm thinking if it keeps snowing at this rate this may be the deepest snow I've ever seen in Owsley County in one day in my 61 years. We had some deep amounts of snow in the terrible winters we had back-to-back in 1977 and 1978, but the snows came from different storms and stayed around because those winters were unbelievable cold.
