Its Christmas, which means time with family and friends, celebrating the birth of Jesus and giving out Football scoop…at least in the Oscar Combs house. Tonight he went to Twitter and gave some Football knowledge, which is worth sharing:

 

Had UK official tell me today he is convinced fans will see a much different UK team next fall after major shift in team leadership. The official said there were major internal bickering created by some players Stoops inherited from Joker Phillips staff. He was very blunt. Said to expect team unity, especially with incoming ’16 recruits. Bad guys no longer in leadership roles. He did not specify individuals. Will not name the official, but I can assure you this info came from a person with complete knowledge & understanding of football situation. You should not try to read any “particular” player who has recently left the program as a player with whom the official was referring to.

 

So there you have it. The man, the myth, the legend, Oscar Combs says that there were problems in the locker and they will be better in 2016. With that knowledge, we wish you good tidings of comfort and joy.

Sounds like another 5-7 season to me

^ If they don't get a lot of things straightened out it will be.

UK looked very much like a team that was not unified. This comes as no surprise to me. I think that later on in the season the "quitter" label could've been applied to the team. As a fan, this is very frustrating. The coaching staff needed to take charge and do what was necessary to correct the problem, including sitting or suspending the malcontents. Good coaches do not let this happen. Stoops is still learning how to be a head coach, so I'll cut him a little slack.

Question, Has every player that Joker recruited at UK, left? Like 2016 and on will be nothing but Coach Stoops recruits?

Scholarships are year to year. If these kids were "bad" why did he renew their scholarships for the past 2 seasons?

 

Dawson and players are scapegoats. 2-10 next year. Schedule is too tough with an unproven qb.

I am with you here, "weak sauce". Stoops needs to learn how to run a program first and foremost and when he masters that, then he needs to learn how to coach a game on the sidelines.

 

Sure seems like a shot at the QB that left the program which would support what I was told several times during the year. If he is not a "leader" then I do not know what the term means.

 

This team is never going to be a perennial winner because of the carousel of head coaches that they are capable of signing. The last 2 guys with measurable success were both at the tail end of their careers, but I can tell you that the guys bought pretty much everything that they were selling.

So who put the "bad guys" in leadership roles? I'm assuming the head coach, and if it wasn't, to me it shows some lack of control and leadership on his part. Ultimately it's Stoops' ship to command..so..command.

He's not really going out on a limb with his comment. This team obviously had some major internal problems, I cant see it getting much worse.
