Lets look at it another way, if any of the non-Stoops players had been involved in any of the off field "activities" that Barker and Baker and the onfield issue of Williams I am confident they would not be on the team.

Had UK official tell me today he is convinced fans will see a much different UK team next fall after major shift in team leadership. The official said there were major internal bickering created by some players Stoops inherited from Joker Phillips staff. He was very blunt. Said to expect team unity, especially with incoming ’16 recruits. Bad guys no longer in leadership roles. He did not specify individuals. Will not name the official, but I can assure you this info came from a person with complete knowledge & understanding of football situation. You should not try to read any “particular” player who has recently left the program as a player with whom the official was referring to.

Most of the guys Joker recruited were no where near SEC calibre players. But Stoops is supposed to coach them up enough to compete with kids that are the same age of kids that other sec schools wanted out of high school? To be honest that's a weak argument.

This was more about attitude than skill. I agree on the skill part but I believe the Joker kids were held to a different standard than his recruits. Its now time for his kids to take responsibility for their play and attitude rather than blaming others.

Sorry if I misunderstood, I thought you were talking about overall skill. As far as Stoops controlling kids attitudes goes, that would be even harder to do than coaching them up. No one can change another person's attitude if one is not willing to change. I don't necessarily believe that he holds his players actions or attitudes to a lesser standard than he does Jokers kids, but to each their own.

 

I understand that some kids may buck and have attitude problems when the coach that recruited them is fired and a new coach comes in and recruits better talent. But honestly, what can Stoops do to fix that?
