To me it depends on what they say, just like kids, a spouse is going to help their parent, they just can't go out swinging with gloves off.

I don't know that it is her fault completely, but school lunches have went from "Fair" to "Horrible" over the last several years. I've had at least one kid in school for the last 17 years and the change has been dramatic.

I'm going to have to disagree. My aunt was the lunch room manager at Nichols Elementary in West Point for over 30 years. I used to help her in the summers plan menus for the upcoming school year when I was a child. And back then, of the menu included something with ketchup, she had to consider that a vegetable by federal standards. THAT is messed up.

I know all seasoning has been removed from food and portions are smaller than years ago. Parents are offered salt and pepper if they eat lunch at school, they just can't give any to their kids.

 

Comparing what my school lunch was, to my sons and now to my daughters there has been a dramatic change. So maybe they counted ketchup as a vegetable when you were helping your aunt, that still doesn't mean the food wasn't better tasting back then. Now it is small portions of bland un-filling food.

I agree. What we got served when I was in high school in the early 90's it would take about 4 lunches today to equal the same portion. I used to love buying my lunch at school. The food was actually really good. The food they serve at my daughters schools these days is absolutely horrible. When I used to meet them for lunch on occasion when they were younger, I would just watch them eat and go pick up something for myself afterwards. It was that bad.

Well, maybe it's like anything; depends on the school. My kids have pretty good lunches. Not to mention the cooks try to utilize vegetables and healthy options.

 

They don't eat some and complain, but let's be real it all can't be chicken nuggets and fries.
