Yup. Did it that way for 9 or 10 years. Finally got to eat at the "cool cafeteria" at the high school. The one that served burgers and shakes and not the one that served plate lunches.

 

So many of Kentucky's schools qualify for "universal free lunch", for lack of a better term, that it's easier for parents to let the school handle it than put in the effort.

I never packed my lunch, never been a picky eater. I enjoyed it , and I don't have kids now so no clue if it's worse.

 

But on your point and I could be wrong but don't some school districts also police what kids bring in for their packed lunch now as well. I'd have to do research but I seem to remember some stories around schools sending notes home with parents saying the lunch they packed was unacceptable.

No clue. I pay for the school lunches for my kid and I don't complain about what he eats. If I had a problem with the school lunches then I would pack an acceptable lunch for my kid everyday. It's not hard to follow directions.

Yep, they're going to complain regardless.

Don't have a problem whatsoever with Cruz's ad . I thought it was fine. He did use his kids as props and hence I also have no problem whatsoever with the cartoon. No problem whatsoever. I think it accurately made the point that Teddy was using his kids as entertainment and for votes. If the W. Post had caricatured Obama's kids as monkeys, many of you that are complaining about this would have been excusing such an ad and talking about Obama playing the victim yet again.

I have no clue how common it is. Like I said this isn't an issue I care about. I was bored and trying to understand the viewpoints of those parents.
