Who is the starting pitcher?
Doesn't there come a point where you have to say, "Listen you big ugly thing, he's hurting the ball club."

The Reds are tied for first place with St. Louis, keep it up Reds.:thumb:

Anyone else see the letter Castillini sent the players on the way out of town for this west coast swing?

No. If that's what the ace wants, that's what he gets. Let the war begin again... :D

What if the ace came in and said I want Larue behind the plate, Castro at SS, and Freel in CF? Does he still get what he wants?

That's simply not the way it should be. If the manager wants to allow that that's one thing. But it's not simply that. when he is hurting the club, which he is by lack of hitting, then the manager needs to step in.

If I were Narron, and Harang told me he wanted to choose his own catch , I would walk him over to number 26's locker and introduce them, and look at Harang and say, nice choice. this is David, you're catcher.

Can you be a little more silly? A SP needs to be comfortable with the guy calling pitches, and Harang feels that with LaRue. It looks as though we are down to one start every five days for Cowboy. I can live with that, and it seems Narron can too...

What would you do when it blows up because Harang is out of his comfort zone and gets killed? It's one start a week. If the team can't survive that, they don't belong anyway...

What if every pitcher told Narron they felt more comfortable with LaRue behind the plate?

Javi will do just fine that one game. He can at least make contact.

Then Ross would transfer to Nebraska.

That's the way it is with the Astros. No way, no how you can justify Brad Ausmus and his .222 average playing 75 percent of the games other than the fact that their pitching staff likes him.

1 out of 5 with Ross playing the other 4 is acceptable. However, 1 out of 5 with Cowboy and then trying to get Javy in is unacceptable.

.222? Shoot, that would be awesome if our Cowboy could hit that! Of course, that would require at least one hit in August. Therein lies the problem.

I don't believe the Astros have another option quite like the Reds do in Ross.
