My point is UK is no better in year 3 of Stoops tenure. Look at the last 7 games and they may be worse.

UK is better this year than what they were last year. They also return a ton of experience that won't be going pro next year as well. #patience

I guess our definition of "better" is not the same. Stoops took over a program that won ONE game the year prior to him arriving. He came in, had a terrible first season, but still doubled Jokers win total the previous year, then proceeded to recruit his tail off to try and resolve the problem.

 

Obviously all of the problems are not fixed and its a work in progress. If you think you can turn a 1-9 team around that quickly then you obviously know nothing about big boy football.

 

To me 5 wins is greater than 1. Top 25 recruiting classes are better than classes in the 75-100 range. But to each his own, I guess we just have different opinions on what is "better."

I thought PT looked disengaged in the Louisville game when he was shown on camera, so this decision fits right in. I wsh him the best. Does he just have one year of eligibility left? If so, I think it would be hard for him to make a major impact at a Power-5 school next year. He would have to rid himself of some bad habits he's developed, e.g., happy feet, interceptions, leaving the pocket too quickly, etc. If he goes somewhere and has two years, then I think he could develop into a good QB under the right tutelage-----which I don't think he got at UK, I'm sorry to say. In any event, I'm pulling for him. Didn't Dusty Bonner leave UK and have a good career at Georgia Southern or Valdosta State (lower division but still good football and more importantly--fun)?

Pat could go and play for a big program and do just fine.

Pat can go and play at any school that wants him. Playing QB is 99% confidence and it was clear that Pat's confidence was shot. Going to a new program and a new system will serve him well. This may be a stretch but I could see him going to Alabama. He is a better Jake Coker IMO. I don't understand all of the hate directed towards Towles all season. He had a makeshift o line and recievers found off the street. Put him in a real system with a real offensive coordinator and a some weapons around him and Towles will be extremely successful. The NFL guys tend to know what they are doing and they liked Towles. His best shot at making a career playing football is not at Kentucky.

For those that think he is not good, and that the terrible offensive line is not to blame for his lack of success, just go ask David Carr what kind of impact a bad offensive line can have on a QB's success.

 

I absolutely think he will go someone bigger than Murray State. Duke is a potential fit, and I have been hearing Michigan is a legitimate option.

It's pretty easy to find one about anywhere. It might not be something that he really wants to get a grad degree in but it isn't too difficult to find something.
