Shelby was a great win for South.. it came down to experience and being able to play in the big game.. you have kids who haven't seen a regional final game and definitely not a state semi finals. South has been there. You take away the two scared mistakes before the half its 14-0 ball game .If Shelby can fill some holes I expect another big year if the staff and team remains in tact next year!

 

Souths defense is unreal JC will need to spread the football to have a chance. The offense is disciplined and good at running the ball if JC has some hogs in the box could create an issue. If the don't have enough beef south will roll with no problem.

Forgot to mention one thing in response. Yes, I've seen south play Gwood, Central Hardin, and John Hardin in person. That's why I'm one of the couple BG fans that think that South is deserving of a top 10 or 15 spot. Now because of who've they've played, who really knows what their rank should really be inside of the top 10 or 15? All depends on how'd they would do against a powerhouse opponent. Quick question I'm trying to figure out... Has there ever been 2 teams from the same county (outside of Louisville and Lex) to win a championship in the same year? If not, this could be a really cool experience for the county and city as a whole!!

At one point FS was 23-2 against the Raiders, owned two State titles and two Runner-Up's (all before your time with the Wildcats, Mac) and it seemed that East would "never catch the Wildcats" as was said earlier about East and the Spartans (who hold a whopping 3-2 advantage on the Raiders)...since that 23-2 mark, FS now leads the series just 7-5 over the last 10 years. It's pretty clear the Raider program has pulled even with the Wildcats for the most part, actually eclipsing them in Regional Titles 2 to 1 since 2000 (both won with FS in East's District) as well as facilities wise in the coming year.

 

...and I agree, the new HC will take East to new heights, and more than likely finally turn the corner on those hated Wildcats for good!

You guys should like your chances. As long as you guys don't lay an egg you guys should win by by three touchdowns. They will have a hard time scoring on you. I see it 28-7, something like that.

Thanks, I thought someone had already listed them. I knew they had done it at least once as I was there for the 2003 games with a good buddy who graduated from Danville. Rough weekend for me. He enjoyed Danville beating my alma mater (Beechwood) while BC was beating my kid's school (Highlands). He's enjoyed that for 12 years now.
