Yes, the game the Class 4A fans have been waiting for all season. The argument of who is the real number one will be answered this week. Johnson Central has been on the verge of making it to the Championship Game for several years now after hitting the Northern Kentucky Wall. This year, they make it. South Warren has the talent and resume to finish the season as Champions. Can they do it, or is Johnson Central on a mission?

The Golden Eagles bring a strong running game to the table with, what has developed as, a potent passing attack when needed. South Warren brings a stingy defense and an athletic offense. Will Johnson Central have what it takes on defense to stop them?

Johnson Central 12-1

JC fans have every right to be ecstatic and the two teams who went wire to wire as the unanimous top teams in the class is exactly what we all wanted to see, but let's call it like it is...right now South Warren is a full speed locomotive and I am not sure any in 4A can hang within 3 TD's of them.

I think JC will give South Warren's Offense some issues, but in the end too much speed and too good of Defense for a JC team who isn't exactly loaded with fast twitch fibers.

All due respect. But one thing Central won't do in this game is lay down. They've overcome serious adversity to get to this point. The Belfry game was a poor indicator about this team, given the injuries - and critical injuries they were - just as I'm sure Belfry fans would agree last year's injury-filled drubbing was not an accurate indicator of what a full-strength Belfry could do. Central's coaching staff has done a masterful job to get to this game while nursing several injured players back to health while surviving and advancing, with Bowling Green always as the ultimate goal. I think you're finally going to see a ready to roll, 100% all-out Central team for the first time since the Ashland game. South Warren may still be just a better team, and if so, I'll tip my hat and congratulate them. But we're not coming across the state just to show up and take pictures. Jim Matney will not allow that. South Warren may annihilate us on the scoreboard, sure. Obviously they're good. But as Collins showed us vs. Highlands, the big favorite does not always triumph. We'll find out how good both teams are. But they'll know they were in a football game when it's over. I'm sure they'd say the same. I expect no less.

JC gets there first title. South Warren seems to have choked the past two years.

South Warren will win by 21 points or more.... Their depth of talented athletes will be too much for Johnson Central to handle. That was the difference in the Shelby County game. Shelby County had 3 athletes to be worried about; South Warren had 11!!! Go Spartans!

JC has plenty of fast twitch fibers themselves (enter Bryce Workman and Geordan Blanton) and they are extremely strong. Nonetheless it, doesn't matter how athletic you are when you get hit in the mouth by power. JC is not going to try to run around, jump over, spin around South Warren, they are gonna run right through them 3-4 yards at at time. I doubt South Warren has seen the size and strength JC brings to the table (16 kids bench pressing over 300lbs).

The game: These two teams are clearly the best 4A has to offer and have been at the top of the rankings (rightfully so) all year. SW is the favorite IMO by a TD but whoever wins the turnover battle wins the game. If Matney had desired, JC could have 7 or 8 shutouts on their schedule like SW thus Im gonna give the slight edge on defense to SW (I just dont believe the defensive gap is as big as some may think). SW passes the ball slightly better and JC runs the ball slightly better so push there. Two opposing styles with two very good defenses.

Prediction: JC 15 SW 14 (going with the underdog as Matney scores late and goes for 2 and the win).

It's been Matneys style since day 1 to go for 2, no need to change now lol. How fitting would it be to win with a 2 pt conversion.

SW 28-9 . SW is going to be so much more athletic across the board. They are not a team with 3 or 4 players . This team has skill at every position. Some folks called this team a non passing , overrated team before the SC game. SC obviously hadn't seen the talent as a whole as they encountered last night. Speed kills slow teams . While I agree JC has size and strength. Just ask any college coach. They will trade both of those for speed and agility. I fully expect JC to put up their best fight but trust me. These kids at SW will NOT be denied a state title this year. Good luck to both teams

How many seniors does JC have this year ?

South Warren is at a different level than any other 4A team. The only teams in the state that I don't think they would have a good chance to beat are Male and Trinity. If SW makes a lot of mistakes and JC plays a perfect game, JC has a shot. I just don't think it will happen. FS played SW tough in the first half of the regular season game and also in the second half of the playoff game, but it was the other half of each game where SW just dominated. John Hardin played SW tough in the first part of their game, but SW has an ability, similar to Bowling Green, to just put a game away in a devastating minute-or-two stretch. Just ask Shelby Co. about the last minute of the first half last night.

I'll say SW 28-0.

Lexington Catholic had tons of athletes with speed all over the place and big play ability as well and JC was a 1st and goal away from putting a running clock on them in their own stadium. This game will be closer than many think. I hope SW comes in over confident.

There has been a common thread all your long on the site South Warren is overrated and not as good as everybody thinks they are until we play you then South Warren is all that and a bag of chips I've watched post all year longfrom John Harden to Franklin Simpson to Shelby County they all changed their tune after they lined it up against us so Johnson Central fans you are more than welcome to start talking about the Spartans and how they are overrated you'll find out, December 6 at 7 o'clock.and yes you have a very good team your big and strongand I wish you nothing but good luck when we meet at WKU!

The overrated comment only came from you as no one said SW was overrated in this thread. SW is very good and no one doubts that. The previous statements are more directed at giving JC some credit for what they have done rather than stating they will get steam rolled (Which I highly doubt will happen - JC may not win, but I believe it will be a close game). You have consistently dropped the comment (Various threads) that people are saying SW is overrated when that is rarely said. I respect you taking up for your team and believe SW has a special group of players, but I assure you no JC fans think they are overrated. Beatable, yes. Overrated, no.

In short, everyone thinks SW is very good and I think JC is very good as well. This should be a great game between the top two teams in 4A.

I think Johnson Central might score a TD on the first team. MIGHT. Give me South Warren 28-7.

My thoughts are South 34 JC 7. Every team for the past 3 years that says they are going to run on south has not been able to. The teams that have had success have been more spread and balanced attack teams.

We will see next week and I wish JC the best of luck and safe travels to Bowling Green.
