South Warren will win by 21 points or more.... Their depth of talented athletes will be too much for Johnson Central to handle. That was the difference in the Shelby County game. Shelby County had 3 athletes to be worried about; South Warren had 11!!! Go Spartans!

I agree with this. I tried to tell everyone they would roll over Shelby County. Class AAAA is very weak and South Warren is a good team. There is not a team in that class that can stay within 3 touchdowns of them.

People need to except the fact that there is a new kid in town. There's room for two great football teams in the BG erea. Get used to it because SW is not going away for a while. In any class!

I think everyone in the BG area is well aware of how good South Warren is, no need to let us know that there's a new kid in town. I also believe that most people around the state do as well, that's why you are ranked top 10 in the state and the top of your class. I do agree that there can be two great teams in Warren County, I believe in my own personal opinion that they (SW) are just taking the place of the old Warren Central for now. They will be the best team in the WCPS for about 5-8 years until kids start wanting to go with the nicer facilities. That's my guess but who really knows? But as for what fanofyours stated about the smack talk, let your team do the talking. Yes you deserve respect, but you've also have to earn it by beating your haters that doubt your team. I never hear about South Warren players going around talking about how good they are. In my talks with about 5 or 6 of your players, they are very humble about the success they are having. That's the way it should be for fans as well. Stay humble and don't be greedy or else you'll really her about it when you finally fall.

Class 4A isn't weak, South Warren is just that GOOD! They have done the same thing to various 5A and 6A teams they have played. They are legitimately one of the top 3-4 teams in the State regardless of class. The only team I think you can confidently say may be better than them is Male. Other than that, it is a toss up...

You are completely wrong. Class 4A is the weakest it has been in a long time. And I don't know what 5A and 6A teams you are talking about because they haven't played very many of those and the few they have have not been very good.

And you are completely nuts if you think Male is the only team that is better. I mean you are completely nuts, completely off your rocker. Comments like that are the reason people make comments about the south warren fan base.

Thats going out on a limb. Male is rated in the top 25 in the nation.

I'd like to South to play a team like Cooper, SK, Scott Co, or BG just to get an understanding of how they would match up to top teams in the state. Yes, I understand the South is a good football team, I've watched them play. I'd just like to see where they stack up. It's just hard to tell with the teams in 4A this year and how they scheduled Greenwood, Central Hardin, and PJP. I know Central Hardin is a decent football team, but BG would've beat them by 50 if it wasn't a flood that night. I'm not discrediting South, so fans don't get upset. It's just hard to determine how good they are compared to the other powerhouses until they play one. I really hope they schedule one next year! It doesn't have to be BG, I just want a comparison game.

1. 4A is HORRIBLE this year. SW fans may want to note that they're the ONLY people claiming it's not.

2. The idea that SW is even a top 10 team in KY is preposterous because of the fact that SW has little to no real offensive threat. Defensively, I agree, top 5. But a look at their scoring against lukewarm competition is the tell on why NOBODY outside of SW thinks they're even in the top 10 discussion.

3. SW is going to slaughter Johnson Central. If JC scores, count me as shocked.

4. It's comical how people keep talking about South's abundance of "athleticism" and how this gives them the edge. Folks, it's those cats upfront that make South great. Skill wise, they're a nice group, but up front, especially on D, they're spooky good.

Fanofyours you need to do your BGpreps thread homework. Prior to SW embarrassing SC . Jacobcarey5530, and tommy2stone both said SW was overrated. Also , I liked the numbers thing and the out of district comment as well. SW fans expected that one to pop up. Name me one school that's not in a one school town . That is any different on that one . People need to except the fact that there is a new kid in town. There's room for two great football teams in the BG erea. Get used to it because SW is not going away for a while. In any class!

Timeout, I never said they are overrated. Said they were 1 all year regardless of JC and Ashland.

SW is a damn good football team and will win by 4 td's

You have amnesia . Look at your post on a different thread about SW and SC playing one another . I can go back and quote you if you like. It's ok to mis read a team. Without seeing s team play in person. It's tough to get a good read on them. Just like me. When I see JC on film. I see a big strong, but slow linemen. But I would say when both teams hit the field. They will be much faster. But please don't get on here and say you said something entirely different

I said I thought they were beatable. I have changed my mind. Very well coached. Can throw it better than I thought. BTW, I went back and read my post I see no mention of over ranked by me and tried to calm that talk. Also go back and look at my rankings from all year.

Matney will go into total freak out if he loses to SW after just getting rid of Highlands from his bracket.

Well that's what he has for the

next three years

Thanks for admitting that you agreed with jacobcarey5530 . What are we gonna pick at one another about after next week. We looked for you to come tailgating with us. Me and spinstop

What To Watch:

South Warren

- It's all about that D! The state's best statistical Defensive unit and it isn't even close. The Spartans have put up numbers like they were playing on "Easy" and even when tested with their toughest competition they have risen to the challenge. South Warren's signature is their run defense and they draw arguably the best rushing team in 4A.

- Kayron Namvong is the name to watch. If there is one mystery about the Spartans it is what their Offense can do when their Defense is not setting them up with pristine field position. Namvong is "Steady Eddie" and a sure bet for 100 yards nearly every time out.

Johnson Central

- Johnson Central's QB will have to live up to his name as Bryce Workman will certainly have his work cut out for him. Workman is finally rounding into form after a minor knee injury and he will be the focal point of the JC Offense if they hope to pull an upset. Workman has looked solid both rushing and passing, he is also an excellent Defensive Back.

- Geordan Blanton is JC's unsung hero. He is their best receiving option, their best big play threat rushing the ball outside of Workman, and he is also the best coverage corner for the Eagles on Defense. In a game where yards will be at a premium and a sustained drive will be incredibly difficult you may see JC's best hopes for victory to be to match the Spartans Defensively and hope to pop one or two key plays that make the difference in the game. If this happens, Blanton will be the number dialed up.

- Tyler Pack is a weapon, but he is a weapon who's production has not necessilarily matched his headlines. By far the strongest leg in the State as evident by his State Records, often times in close games the Eagles have passed over Field Goal or even Extra Point opportunities in favor of more points. In this game 3 points and a long Field Goal may prove paramount, especially if it is a low scoring game late in the 4th. The one facet JC can definitely check as an advantage is Field Position from kicking...they have to capitalize on that.

Analysis:

South Warren is rolling! The sheer dominance of their Defense has been almost unfair in contrast to the rest of the class and has carried them to the Finals for the first time and quieted the lips of doubters.

These two teams have went wire to wire at the top two post positions in Class 4A, but entering this game the consensus is Class 4A is South Warren's to lose. Johnson Central is not the team you want to overlook. Jim Matney relishes the role of underdog and the Eagles have advanced to the Title Game with a much tougher playoff path than South Warren. The Eagles will gladly take a fast moving clock and a low scoring game and they sport the second best run Defense in 4A of their own.

This game ultimately comes down to whether South Warren can simply do what they do best. Control the clock, control the field position, and keep their opposition in single digits. South Warren will then look to pop a couple big plays and capitalize on short fields. The task is tall for JC and anything other than a Spartan win will be viewed as possibly the weekend's biggest upset

Calpreps Prediction:

South Warren 28 Johnson Central 14

Bluegrasspreps Prediction:

South Warren 21 Johnson Central 10

U sir are mistaken and know nothing about SW or their fans. It was a direct quote in bold capitalized letters from a Shelby county fan that SW was overrated. That they would rush for 300 yds etc...Its also been stated on multiple threw ads that their schedule was weak and of course you go back to the ol "they are 5a playing 4a" statement. They ARE 4a per the khsaa rules.

You're truly clueless! No offensive threat? While I will agree defense is their staple, their offense has plenty of threats. Litten and Namvong in the backfield. Hayes, Cummings, Mac, Colton. They were able to drive the ball for 5-8 yds at a time against Shelby. Litten was hurt for several games yet they still put up points.

Please give me 10 teams you think are better than them in the state.
