Respectful, we are. Scared, we are not.

Just wanted to put this out there for the people who continue to say SW fans keep saying they can't be beat. What we are saying is . As passionate fans we scout our apponents out on film and make our prediction. So far this season SW has went up against some good teams. But not great. If we were to play Male , Trinity , ST.X etc...I promise you our fans would be saying we are going to have play a flawless game and hope for the best.ANY team is beatable! SW fans are not taking JC lightly by any means. And our players certainly are NOT. We don't expect JC to be a bit scared. I'm sure we will see everything these kids have in this one. From both sides of the ball. Good luck JC may the best team win!

1. 4A is HORRIBLE this year. SW fans may want to note that they're the ONLY people claiming it's not.

 

2. The idea that SW is even a top 10 team in KY is preposterous because of the fact that SW has little to no real offensive threat. Defensively, I agree, top 5. But a look at their scoring against lukewarm competition is the tell on why NOBODY outside of SW thinks they're even in the top 10 discussion.

 

3. SW is going to slaughter Johnson Central. If JC scores, count me as shocked.

 

4. It's comical how people keep talking about South's abundance of "athleticism" and how this gives them the edge. Folks, it's those cats upfront that make South great. Skill wise, they're a nice group, but up front, especially on D, they're spooky good.

 

Didn't y'all get beat by 50 in a game South had to try and not beat you by 100??? So if South is not that good, what does that make y'all?

I could see excuses for putting Male, Trinity, Saint X and possibly even BG (you wrote them twice), no one else... By your logic/analysis, it seems like you are just picking the top teams in 5A and the top teams in 6A, and saying they are better without any true reasoning for it. That doesn't hold any weight, and don't give me the strength of schedule bull either because that's a cop-out.

 

In College basketball, Kentucky plays one of the toughest schedules year in and year out; yet last year we watched them get beat by a Wisconsin team whose schedule didn't come close to theirs.... I knew coming into that game that Wisconsin was the better team because I had actually WATCHED them play. Have many of you actually WATCHED South Warren play, or are you just regurgitating the same Spartan hating rhetoric that you see other BGpers spewing???

 

ThatBGPurple I have watched many of the teams you have listed either in person or film, and I vehemently disagree with you. I give BG a chance only because it is a rivalry game, and you can never tell what will happen. But I saw that same BG team lose badly to Saint X.... I saw that same team give up 14 points in the first half (should have been 21 but wasn't because of home field cooking) to a mediocre Greenwood team that South Warren dismantled with ease. The game was TIED AT HALFTIME AGAINST YALL!! (By the way, all Greenwood fans said we were the better team too.) I also witnessed this same BG team not score a SINGLE POINT in the second half against Warren Central who finished 4th in a South Warrens district in 4A....

 

In conclusion, your argument carries no weight, and you are not a credible source. Therefore please refrain from making further incredulous statements because you seem to be thinking with your heart and not your head (The big one, in case you were wondering)...

4A isn't weak. SW schedule should include BG or maybe Owensboro.

JC is the who had been overrated all year and resting on the very weak east ky 4A

What stupid statement. You aren't going to have any credibility left if you keep making statements saying there are are three teams in the state that could beat SW. I don't know how many there are, but to make a statement like that is just plain stupid. Especially sense SW didn't even play a team in the top 25 in the state.

Doubletake 1906, just to set the record straight. There was no home cooking in the Greenwood game, if there was, it was for the Gators. It was played at Greenwood. We can all claim my team is better than yours, until we are blue in the face, but it won't change a thing. Good luck to both teams.

South's ventures into 5A and 6A hardly render eye popping scores outside of their drubbing of good Greenwood team.

 

But I'll give it a try...

1. Male

2. Trinity

3. St. X

4. Simon Kenton

5. Lafayette

6. Manual

7. BG

8. Owensboro

9. Pulaski

10. Scott Co.

 

I don't think South would be within 10-14 points of any of these teams.

 

Honorable mention:

McCracken - because they can actually throw the ball

Fern Creek - neither team might ever score

Cooper - a quality matchup for both

North Laurel - Like McCracken, their offensive ability is beyond anything South has faced

Belfry - Like Cooper, I think it would be an awesome game to watch.

 

Also, please note, I didn't just name traditional schools. I would pick South against Highlands, Cov Cath, Boyle (though we all know you can't whip your daddy!), Lex Cath, all of 5A and 6A that aren't listed above, and every 1A-4A school save Belfry. This isn't just random South bashing. It's an objective view based on what I think teams and South bring to the table.

Congrats, you hammered a down East team that started like 17 Sophomores. You think you'll just keep on rolling over the Raiders? I didn't mean to type BG twice... Sorry about that. But you took my post completely out of context. I was not saying every single one of those teams will beat south warren. I just said I want to see South play one of those teams THIS YEAR. Etown is undefeated, that's why I put them on there. They are a different team, it's 2015 not 2014. Simply making the remark anyone can beat anyone is absolutely true in any sport! No one in the state other than Graves Co fans would've thought they would've beat Bowling Green last year the way they did. What I'm trying to say is, anything can happen in sports. You brought up UK basketball like that is relevant, but did they not lose to Wisconsin? I can see your point on how you think SW is great, because I agree totally. You just need to understand that not every post about SW from a BG fan is dogging south warren. I know they are a top 10 team, if they were to play a top ten team, I would be able to figure out where they should be ranked. That's all I want, is a real measuring stick to see how good SW is. Plus, all SW fans would want that too. It would get rid of many of the haters around the state to show that SW could beat those top powerhouses.

Oh and I'm not going into the arguement of BG vs SW again. That's a drum that's been beat too many times that you're trying to bring up with facts and opinions from both sides I've already heard before.

Forgot to mention one thing in response. Yes, I've seen south play Gwood, Central Hardin, and John Hardin in person. That's why I'm one of the couple BG fans that think that South is deserving of a top 10 or 15 spot. Now because of who've they've played, who really knows what their rank should really be inside of the top 10 or 15? All depends on how'd they would do against a powerhouse opponent. Good luck Spartans, please bring home some hardware so we can hopefully have 2 in Warren County!!

 

Quick question I'm trying to figure out... Has there ever been 2 teams from the same county (outside of Louisville and Lex) to win a championship in the same year? If not, this could be a really cool experience for the county and city as a whole!!
