Absolutely Pulaski just possibly may have been the better team. And yes, Weinrich knows a ton more than I do at coaching. This was a very winnable game for Highlands. I expressed my ipinion as to why "adjustments" we're not made. If adjustments were made yesterday in the 2nd half, on Highlands part, they didn't work now did they?

Players make plays and coaches put them in position to make plays. My only criticism was one that ran rampant throughout the stands and that was personel decisions being made too late. I'm all for loyalty to kids who put the work in all year but when my season is on the line I'm going with my best players in certain spots.

 

Putting Hebel at FB was genius though. He was mashing people.

What's the big deal with people criticizing the coach? It comes with the job. Had the Birds held the Marroons off, the praise for the coaches would have been all over this board. Pulaski made great adjustments to slow the running game and the play calling for the Birds didn't change much. Heregot loosened up the run defense in the Cov Cath game by making some key passes. I realize this wasn't CCH but except for the last drive, did the Birds attempt any passes on first down?

Lets give credit were it is do. Don't blame the coaches. Give Hall, Johnson and 16 the credit they deserve. HHS were still getting into the back field in the second half they were still hitting the back at the line, but Hall would scramble and make guys miss the same for 16. Many times HHS would have them for a loss and some how Hall would turn it into a 15 yard gain. Just off straight athletic ability. Offense they put up 31 points with that score the offense did what they needed to do. PC just had more talent. Don't bash the coaches because what they did with this team was amazing going from 1-5 to the state simi-finals. And the Dale comment is silly, BW won a state title in 12 when Dale was gone, Dale lost to the same team in 13 and BW came back from some crazy deficit in 14 for the state title.

If this team was so talent deficient then why with the game in the balance and your season on the line are your best players not on the field whether it be on both sides of the ball or on special teams?

I was wondering the same thing unless players were not playing assignment football! Highlands defense "use" to play gap responsiblity and maybe there was to much freelancing going on?

Wasn't there talk of free lancing on D in the Finals loss a couple of years ago? Even some Def audibles being called that put players in the wrong position, and ended up costly Highlands a Title.
