If I understand - The elephant in the room is how the coach's balance the programs expectation with player participation?

 

The last two quarters of the Semi Final game only the best Jimmy/Joes into the game.

It just so happens Pulaski County was also a great team too and made the necessary adjustments to win the game. Pulaski coaches, players, and fans were class acts. The ones I talked to after the game were relieved to have won, and were very complimentary to our team and town.

 

I'd still like to know what the "adjustments" were. Change in personnel? Scheme? Technique? Or just tell the payers to execute better -- if that's an adjustment?

I can see why so many people dislike HHS(some fans). Don't blame the coaches because they didn't play iron man football the whole second half (Because that would be smart against a team that runs a platoon system) highlands has always ran a platoon system and has been pretty good with it. Don't pick out plays that changed the game. Yes this highlands team had talented players on it but just accept that PC was more talented and it had nothing to do with play calling, refs, or your kid. Be glad they went to the state simi-finals after starting 1-5. And just remember Trinity didn't make it this year either. 23 all.

 

But see Post #27. Saying PC wins 7 or 8 out of 10 seems to acknowledge the better team won.

I would say offensive emphasis. The 1st half PC relied on deep outs and what appeared a ton of option routes, mainly to #2. #7 made some great plays extending drives, but a lot of that was unsustainable. In the second half they really emphasized #16, and he took over between the guards mostly.

 

Defensively they seemed to bring an 8th more in the box and their OLBS pinched hard to contain Kendall. Without watching film, that is what I saw.
