Got to go with the Birds...only losses to #3, #4, #5, #7, and #10 Cantrall's rated 6A teams in state. St. X, Simon Kenton, Scott Co., Ryle, and Cooper is an early season scheduling gauntlet that would be a nightmare for every team in Ky, let alone one with a new coach replacing a legend. Bird's faithful that didn't abandon ship have got to be proud of this team. Playoff tradition, home field advantage, and winning momentum combine to produce a victory over PC 30-21.

 

Oh, I dunno. I could think of a couple that wouldn't mind it. :lol2:

Okay. You may not be disappointed this week. But if you have that much respect for the PC and HHS beats them, then you may leave the next week disappointed!!!

:lol2: I do have a ton of respect for this Pulaski County team. They have never ceased to impress me. I think Highlands fans will be very impressed with Pulaski County.

You do understand that Pulaski County didn't play Riley Hall and their leading WR that game, the backup QB got hurt in that game and their 3rd string QB led them to victory?

 

That's all great information. Helps to put into perspective why Pulaski only scored 34 points against an average 4A school that gave up 43 to a weak 4A school just 7 days earlier.

 

Doesn't help explain why Bourbon was able to put up 27 points in the contest. A dominate 5A school should shut down an opponent like Bourbon.

 

Like I said, this is the game I see in Pulaski's season that makes me believe HHS has a great shot of moving on. Fool's gold. Maybe. We'll see.

How do you know what you are getting from PC? Their schedule was awful with only SC a good team and only 2 other teams that were barely above 500. PC, HHS, and Cov Cath all got beat by SC by about the same margin. HHS is by far playing better now than first half of year. I like HHS at home.

Couldn't agree more!! I have no idea who wins because I know nothing about PC. BUT, HHS has improved dramatically and now it will be a game. HHS has looked in the mirror and figured things out. I don't care who their wins have come against, they have figured it out at the right time and I don't care what happens in this is game, I'm proud of this team. Win or lose, I'm proud they figured it out. But this WILL NOT be an easy game for PC. HHS can smell another championship (even after a terrible start) . That will have a lot to do with the outcome.

I don't think very many are looking at PC as the underdog.

Here's what l'll say... This team has looked in the mirror and finally figured out that it's not about them. It's not about the individual. It's not about this senior class. It's not about this year! It's about the tradition. They have realized that you put nothing else in front of the tradition of the "program". That's what carries HHS to championships and this crew has figured it out. Win or lose, they have seen the light. And I don't care what happens in this game, this makes me proud of this team. IF this PC team is as talented as they say and can beat HHS at home, I will root for them in the championship. But this WILL NOT be an easy task and I will have a special place for this bluebird team because of the year they went through and still made a run. If PC is better, than it is what it is. But it doesn't mean that these kids didn't grow throughout the year and learn how to get better. But something tells me that because they have seen then light, tradition takes over and the Birds win this one.

Did anyone ever really doubt that it wouldn't come down to these 2 teams?
