June 29, 200620 yr There's a difference between shooting a FT in practice and shooting one with pressure, tired, in front of thousands of people. I think the fact that it's mental makes it much more difficult. When Shaq or Josh Boone or whomever goes up to the line, they don't expect to make it anymore. That's obvious, when you see them at the line. That tells me fixing that FT problem isn't a big issue for their coaching staffs either. Also say its a character flaw. Shaq is a confident player and to me just seems like there is something missing he has talent and attitude. Maybe just missing the right person, idea or something. But to me Shaq should be able to shoot 70% from line. But as a coach you can't question a multimillion dollar athletes heart over a free throw, free throws are not why these guys get paid or get college scholarships.

June 29, 200620 yr What happened to Rondo not getting drafted like alot of people were saying when he declared?:sssh: I think more people said they "personally" wouldn't draft Rondo, me being one of those people. I stand by that, and I can think of a few undrafted players I would have rather had......Pittsnogle being one off the top of my head. But good luck to him....I really hope he succeeds and has a long career.

Now, there is no comparison in the two in every other aspect of the game, but a 7 footer who can shoot the way Pittsnogle can should be welcome on any team, IMO. All he needs is the motivation to be a solid rebounder/defender. If I were Pittsnogle, and I started to wonder how to feed my wife & child. The most simple answer would be to improve my rebounding and defense, which is much easier to improve than shooting skills.

Dirk can shoot off a pick. Pittsnoggle can do none of those.
June 30, 200620 yr I just read this on an ESPN page 2 article: Just when this draft couldn't get any crazier, my beloved Celtics just bought the 21st pick from Phoenix to take Rajon Rondo, the Kentucky guard who Chad Ford touted all summer because he mistakenly thought Rondo was foreign. Unfortunately, Rondo can't shoot. This is an understatement. As Bilas says, "Teams in the SEC didn't even guard him."
