Shows up out of shape before the season, plays himself into shape as the season goes on, then competes at a high level in the playoffs. He cares about his FT shooting when it matters and it has never cost his team a championship.
June 29, 200620 yr Personally, I think Rondo will make a pretty good pro point guard. He may not be an All-Star like Jason Kidd, but he'll be solid. I think the style of play that Tubby Smith wanted held Rondo back some. Guys like Rondo need to get out and run, or they get frustrated. When you get frustrated, you tend to dribble too much, hold the ball, or do other things out of character. An up-tempo NBA style will help RR, and I think he'll come into his own. BTW, he'll never be a great shooter. But in his 2 years at Kentucky, he was a much better 3 point shooter from NBA range than he was from the college line.

I don't know any particular years, nor do I know of any players (other than Jason Williams & Darius Washington Jr.) who have lost games because of missed free throws. But I assume that there are times in Shaq's career when they have lost by a few points, when Shaq missed more than a "few" free throws.

When he was drafted he was called ason Kidd, cause he had no J. Rondo could be an All-Star. Tubby and the teammates at KY did not help Rondo and he didn't help them. Four people would stand around and watch Rajon dribble and he would watch them stand around.

I truly don't pay that close attention to the NBA. Possibly last year. Didn't he have a horrendous free throw shooting series? How can a 50% free throw shooter with more than 10 attempts not be a credible argument? I never have claimed myself to be an NBA expert...
