I don't know about three songs. If I had a weird vision for my funeral, it would be a requiem mass with Mozart's Requiem as the actual liturgical music.

The day we buried my dad I was out running with Pandora playing. As I was finishing my run, that song plays. Thought it was apropos and I had a laugh. He would have gotten a kick out of it.

It is all about setting the tone of what you want your funeral to be. I like the "My Old Kentucky Home" idea. I have let it be known for sometime that I want "Send Me on My Way" by Rusted Root to play as they are ushering me down the aisle. Regardless, I want my funeral to be the biggest blowout party of the century.

If I have a closed casket, then the last song that I want played is "Pop Goes the Weasel", over and over, so everyone will be staring at my casket with morbid wonder.......

I've been to a lot of funerals. They all follow a very similar pattern.

 

One funeral director told me "go rest high" by Vince gill is worse than fingernails on a chalkboard to him.

 

 

I'm thinking my funeral will have:

 

Saves the day--"your funeral"

 

Drake--"hotline bling" (gives a whole new meaning to hotline bling can only mean one thing!)

 

And probably dust in the wind/another one bites the dust for the conclusion.

I hope my family and friends cry for me early,at my funeral, but I hope the last song they hear at the end is Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations. It is my favorite song. Anyone who knows me knows that. I want them to leave the church singing it loud and proud with a smile on their faces! Life goes on!
