I guess I had guys in mind when first thinking about this question, but I guess could apply to the ladies as well. When you get your hair cut, do you visit a barber, a stylist or do you do yours yourself.

Me...I have a good "old timey" barber in town who does a great job. I wear a flat top and not everyone can do those well. He also does the straight razor hot lather shave/trim around the ears and back of the neck. Went to the other barber shop in our town a couple of times and he just didn't do near the job. My barber also does straight razor shaves, do one of those every once in a while, feels great.

Have done all three throughout the years, but lately (for the past 5 or so years) it's been a "do it yourself", with the help from the little lady. Do the little guy's hair the same way. Those Wahl clippers have paid for themselves ten-fold (or more).

I go to either a barber down in Newport (thanks @lawildcat for the recommendation!) or to Big League Haircuts if I am short on time (like I will be tonight).

@Lawnboy13, you can avoid this thread as there isn't much for you to have cut :lol2:

So he should get a half off special;)

Wife has been doing mine for about 20 years. I tip her less each year because there's less hair to cut.

I go to one of the best cosmetologists in all of NKY/greater Cincy area! Can't beat the price or the fabulous work she does!

Stylist. Not much to work with, though.

Depends. If I have an event upcoming, I'll go to the barber shop.

If my hair is just too long and on my nerves, I'll put the #1 guard on the clippers and go to work.

Use #1 myself.

Do it myself quick buzz and done.

I would fall into the do it yourself category. Though my wife is the one doing the work. She's no barber but a Wahl and a 1 guard is all that's needed to trim my hair.

Going to a barber for me would be like someone with one tooth coming to me. What's the point?
