The laws won't change because the American people aren't behind changes Obama wants. Sometimes when people talk about gun control they speak in away like they somehow are in the majority. Conservatives lost on gay marriage. Liberals lost the gun argument.
October 5, 201510 yr You see my proposals above, and I have a few more that I posted on a FB page, all said was leading to a civil conversation. But it wasn't good enough for a select few. Some just wanted to be juvenile and start name calling the people who carry. I see why those on the far right don't want to sit down and solve this, as many people are very immature and acting all bad behind a keyboard calling names. Sad people some of them.....I did and I'm okay with most of it, but I hate to think what politicians would turn it into. The other problem is I'm not sure it would stop anything.

I hope you know that I was not referring to you But some people who are anti-gun, and yes I do mean anti-gun not pro-gun control, starts yelling that the people who carry are not men, and start talking about their, well, size, and that they need guns to make up for it. Trying to tell the few people that "right there", the juvenile name calling and all, as well as not recognizing that people have the right to carry, even open, is going to stall any adult attempt to figure this out, and that THEY are a main part of the problem for things not getting started.

The purpose, I suppose, was to prevent stock piling and/or impulse purchasing of a large cache at once that may be made by a troubled individual. Thoughts?

This might help with the availability of firearms as a few people can't go in and buy them all up. But you can only shoot two guns at a time, and I'm sure that collectors wouldn't like that idea.

You are not going to convince me that a policy for highly urbanized states are going to be applicable to less urbanized areas. Give the state the power to determine gun regulations that best fit their individual context. As far as stopping the mass killings we have recently experience, and I know this wont go over to well, but we have to set the example that we are not going to tolerate this kind of behavior in the United States. Cut out the bs judicial attrition process, put them on trial within a week of committing the crime, and then hang them from the highest tree. Set an example that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.

I think the last paragraph isn't a bad thought but the majority of these type killings seem to end with the shooter dead so I don't see how that helps much.

I agree, but then you have cases like the Aurora theater where the shooter isn't put on trial until 3 years after the fact, and is then sentenced to life in prison. Completely unacceptable in my opinion.
