No Hoge no State Championship..Highlands didn't win because of defense..They did have some nice skill players but if Highlands loses one of them they still would of won state. The Birds won because of Hoge.....period!

Be better than this years squad and that is because of some other seniors. Hoge was a stud but even Hoge wouldn't have improved this years team as much as some may think.

Yes, there have been a lot of childish posts, but there have also been a lot of good posts with honest open discussion. For those paying attention, the Highlands fans have answered a lot of questions in this thread.

They have charter buses for all their away games don't they? I know I was surprised when they showed up week 0 in charter buses.

 

Well, they dont have school buses. Also, it essentially costs the same to pay for the school buses as it does for charter.

I was sitting in the stands watching two 4A teams. A group of guys sat right in front of me with their clipboards and felt tip pens. They were doing the X's and O's, just like all coaches do. I got curious so I looked over their shoulders, only 2 out of 11 had names on them. They may not know every name on the team, but know "by name" who the difference makers are. Obviously, these were scouts and as they were leaving I asked them what team they were scouting and they said "both." To this day I don't know what school they were from. .

The only times I know that coaches are at other games is during bye weeks and they are scouting future opponents. I don't know of anyone that goes to other schools games scouting players that they won't even face that season. Yet we are to believe that Conner, SK, and Cooper have been sending coaches to Highlands games last year so they would know what Highlands was returning. Sorry RCC9, I understand you are a coach and all for another sport, but I'd love to know how many games you have attended of teams that you won't even face that season.

A Highlands coach scouted the CCH game last Saturday sitting on the visitors side. Wasn't hard to miss because he was wearing all Highlands gear. Now that's old school. Gotta love it.
