I have watched these players for 2 to 3 years at Lafayette. They are capable of putting up 35 points against any team in KY, including Trinity.

 

Not going to change my mind. With all of the money that Trinity has, shouldn't you have a dossier on every athlete at Lafayette?

Exactly. People make predictions on here all day long and no one has a problem with it. Any time you just say "Team A will beat Team B" and give absolutely no reasoning behind it, it's probably going to be questioned. It's common sense.

This isn't going to be like your normal grade school Dlines your guys cart up and down the field week in week out, this is a legit front line defense & offense, ask all Brentwoods D1 guys!! Good luck!!!

Trinity needs to stay focused and not buy into all the early hype, deserved or not. The Rocks need to keep improving in order to keep pace with all the other teams who are improving. I think the coaches will get this done. Depth and someone wanting to take your starting job will help, too......a little bit of the "one day contract" mentality.

Great comment - and we need to remind them from time to time. But, I personally don't feel like 'focus' is a big deal for this group of Shamrocks. I want to remind everyone most of the guys were on the field as Sophomores when Male beat us down 2 times in the same season. Now - this group has matured with each other over the past few years and they have a strong desire to play for Trinity first...worry about personal goals or accomplishments later. Every guy is determined to do his job and earn the respect of the Coaching staff, alumni, administrators and school peers. This is a very tight group...one of the tightest I've seen going back to my days playing or coaching. I'm confident the Rocks will be laser focused for Lafayette this week.

 

Enjoy this team everyone. You have to believe this group is as good as advertised and the local or National attention is well deserved. Lot of time in that million dollar weightroom. Lot of time pushing each other in the off season.

So, a 17 point spread, you are another one that puts Lafayette on the same plain as nationally ranked Brentwood. Trinity only beat them by 18. I guess Lafayette ought to be nationally ranked.

Do you happen to know if the 77-78 and 07-08 games were regular season or playoff?

However, I don't quite get how your comment applies here. We should not expect Lafayette to be nationally ranked? If they are good enough to beat Trinity then why not? Scott County and Male were ranked higher than Trinity in 2013. They were better teams that year and deserved it.

Hope your prediction has nothing to do with the feeder middle school winning back to back city championship. That was middle school football, which majority of the times DOES NOT transpire to the high school level. Lafayette has a pretty solid club and those D1's are legit... vs. a weaker opponents, we would like to see how they fair against bigger, better competition. T-35 LHS-0

I know a couple of kids on T's defense. They took it personal that Brentwood scored 13 points on them. I think LL will score, but will be held to less than 13. I also think T's running game will absolutely wear LL down all night long. Sprinkle in some opportunistic passing plays and T will tally 35+. My prediction: 45-7 Rocks.

Said it before. Don't see anyone scoring on T defense except Ensworth (didn't); maybe Brentwood (13 -- good on them!); Male (preview of real state title game); and maybe X depending on how their offense comes together. I stand by that. This will be a romp. That defense has no holes and you need top end talent at all positions to compete with them.
