I dont like this at all. I know I played football up here in NKY, and I dont think its a good thing at all atleast not for the 1A schools up here in NKY!.. Its not fair at all to the teams like Ludlow, Bellevue, Dayton, and Holy Cross. These teams and players probably will never get much of a chance now to see what it is like to win a playoff game, because they will be stuck up against Beechwood and NCC in the first round. Those 2 teams are usually 2 of the top 3 teams every year in the state. So realistically those teams now have no chance to win a playoff game, they had a lot better chance in the old system. Its not good for Beechwood and NCC because now they have to play ever earlier than before in the playoffs. I just dont agree with this whole idea at all!!!

Woody this is not just about Manual no matter how hard you try to make it that it really isn't. Manual has as much to lose as Butler, PRP, Eastern, and others, the difference is that those school don't have a fan base on here. If you like the system for 3a then that is fine but why don't you listen to the folks in 4A that know what they are talking about, and it is not just us, even the Trinity, St. X and other 4A fans know what we are talking about. You don't! And you don't have too, why don't you just celebrate the easy road Ashland is getting and move on.

Yeah Ashland has such an easy Eastern 3A bracket - a real cupcake:lol:

 

We've been matched up vs great No Ky teams for years and now we've got great mountain teams along with lex cath. I love it - great teams force you to rise to meet them :thumb:

We have been stating our objection to the underhanded way this was done to stop the public private split by dividing the publics and about how it effects the whole 4A system and we held that up as an example. Again you are the one bringing up Manual under devisive language to split it up but there have been plenty of St. X and Trinity fans that see this as a problem as well. If you see this as a Manual problem then it just underscores that you don't know anything about 4A and really you might want to stop reread the post and try to understand what we are ACTUALLY saying not what you want us to be saying.

My question is: Why change it? Seriously, does it make everyone THAT mad that St. X and Trinity happen to be able to slug it out in their respective roads more often than others?

Apperently they only care when their teams are the ones that have to play them. Which is the point of this, to keep the publics from reviewing the public private debate again in the future by keeping the publics divided. Meanwhile competition overall suffers in 4A.

Again, I believe I replied to the points in each post.

People complained about how unfair it was for Manual so thats who I used for a comparison. No one has yet countered the No 3A comparison I used. You are free to enter any Lou school you wish instead of manual - thats my point as well.

 

Now the debate is over "this plan to stop the public/private split"

and that it ruins 4A? - is that correct?

 

If how it ruins 4A is your cries of the 2 best teams arent playing in the final - then thats no debate, as shown elsewhere. If it's something else please state specifically.

Do you want the split?? If yes, say so.

If not, then say what you feel should be done instead of this.

I havent' seen anything at all from you guys about that point. The unfairness issue keeps getting rehashed... Don't just complain give us something to compare it with - besides the status quo.

No tears are being shed. Just the arguments being thrown out there. Earlier I was going to say how much I respected your solo, non-finger pointing mantra of "just win", but I see you've gotten into a new level of class.

 

My peeps are using Manual as an EXAMPLE (because it's a very good one, in this case), of all those who don't have a fanbase. There are a lot more 4A teams in Louisville than are represented here on BGP. Iriqouis has been talked about this year for the first time in a LONG time. Now their pride is going to most likely be limited.

 

Now, if somene could please explain to me the BENEFITS of this new schematic, and stop all the childishness, I think we'd all not only see things a lot clearer, but we might actually come up with answers.

I can undersatnd what you mean...

 

If I was doing the draw I would automatically eliminate the 1/2 vs 7/8 matchup possibilities before drawing (& never have that combo in the rotation due to travel).

It may be "technically" inequitable that 1/2 never has to face 7/8 but I have no idea who or how that effects various teams in the 4 classes (as decisions should be made IMO). That still gives a nice variety with a rotation of 5 different regions to play against. Nothing is going to be perfect - this seems worth trying
