This is the season opener for both teams and will be played in Lexington at the Traditional Bank Bluegrass Bowl at Lexingotn Catholic on August 29th. Game time is posted as 6:15 p.m.

The theme on the both sides of the ball for Henry Clay this year is speed. That theme is lead by UK-commit Davonte Parker at corner back.

Along with Lafayette, Sam Simpon's Blue Devils are supposed to represent the new, improved Fayette programs. Will they show against traditional power St. Xavier?

This game should be interesting given the scrimmages of both X and HC.

For the number of players and talent they have, Henry Clay always leaves me wanting more. I hope they win, but I don't think they will.

St. Xavier 28

Henry Clay 7

I'll take X only because I was underwhelmed by the performance of Henry Clay in the Trinity scrimmage. If you can't get pumped up for that one, you may have some issues. I don't recall seeing any sort of grit or fight out of HC in the scrimmage...except for a few post tackle celebrations when Trinity had the 3rd string in the game

Also going to say X will sort through the preseason questions and put a quality product on the field. I could be way off and we are going to find out how bad things really are over at Tiger Tech. But I really feel like the staff has to be working OT to fill all of the open spots and X will have a solid game plan.

I think so too.

I'm picking Henry Clay just because of a gut feeling.

This will be a close game. I'm going to go with X in this one but wouldn't be surprised if the Ble Devils found a way to win.

X- 17

HC - 9

They may have been pumped up, but T knocked em out. I'll take X 17-14.

I'll say it again Trinity would've done that to 90% of the schools in the state of KY. 44-0 looks bad but if you look at the facts, it wasn't a shocker.....

I believe Coach Wolford will have his troops focused and they will take the game 17-7. It will be interesting to see if the Tigers stay with their wide-open offensive attack or scrap it and return to their ground game of years gone by.

I'll take X 24-10, just don't think HC has enough to beat the Tigers
